That was so minging. Rats do not taste good. Seriousley awful. Spitting some of the blood out of my mouth I wiped my hands on my black jeans. Oops I now had blood stuck in my finger nails. I put my hands on my hips in frustration, it wasn't like I often tried to wear nail polish. I didn't even wear make up. Not that I needed to, but sometimes I just wanted to be able to paint my nails. Was that too much to ask?

"Stop glaring, you can always paint your nails later." Daren chuckled. Shooting him a dirty look I said.

"I'll bite you if you dont shut up." With that I stalked off into the forest to try and find something             better tasting. Dead automn leaves fell off the trees into my hair, normal people wouldn't have been able to tell that they were a vivid gold in this light. But I could. I could also tell from their smell that they were from an ash tree, an ash tree that had been dead for three weeks two days 13 hours and a minuite to be precise. An ash tree that a squirel had climbed yesterday trying desperatley to get away from an alsation who's owner was a man that was fourty five years old and was six foot one. Shaking my head I stopped going down that mind path. Sometimes you found out things you would rather not know doing that.

Still on some occasions it could be useful; not very often though. Like the time when I followed the mind path of a ginger cat and ended up finding Daren, he was the first of my kind I had ever met. He helped me alot with learning to control my thirst and my gifts. I was lucky to find him because apparentley most vampires travel alone for mileniums. Daren would never find  out that I felt I was lucky to have found him because he'd mock me for the rest of eternity. And if I could avoid that I would. A throbbing pain started in the back of my throat. I kneeded to get hunting.

Hmm. That smelled good. I followed the scent bending under branches and leaing over logs. Bingo. A heard of deer. Treading carefully even though I knew they couldn't hear me, I glided towards them. Gracefully I sprang at the nearest one clamping my teeth onto it's neck. I used my mind to calm it and make it sleep. Then I drained it dry. That was alot more filling. And a hell of a lot tastier. Licking my lips to get rid of the blood I ran through the forest back to Daren, my usual theorie on running was why run somewhere when you can walk and get there on time? But I knew Daren would get sick of waiting. As I rounded a corner I heard him ask.

"All done?" Knodding I smiled I'd only been gone a minuite and he was getting impatient already. Linking arms we made our way to my house.
