Allie's POV

Today started out like any other September day in Texas. I was sitting on my back porch playing games on my laptop. All of a sudden I heard my dad say "Allie, we want you to help us with helping our new neighbor move in." I immediately turned off the game I was playing and shut down my laptop.

I walked out front and saw my parents helping this guy with orange hair, who I'm guessing was our new neighbor. "Hi I'm Allison, but you can call me Allie." I said to the new guy and he replied "I'm Cody, Cody Eakin. I was traded to the Dallas Stars from the Washington Capitals back in June."

As soon as Cody said his name, I knew who he was. He played for the Hershey Bears when they won the Calder Cup two years ago. I remember the day the Bears won Calder Cup so vividly. I was in Carlisle, PA which is my hometown, visiting my best friend. Her sister bought three tickets for game 6 against the Texas Stars (Dallas' AHL Affiliate) and they asked me if I wanted to go to the game with them.

"You played for the Hershey Bears when they won the Calder Cup." I said to Cody and he replied "Yeah. So are you a Bears fan?" As I grabbed another box I said "Yeah. I was born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and the Bears are a pretty big deal in Central PA." Cody replied "I know, I've never seen so many people get excited about minor league sports."

I could tell that Cody and I were going to be great friends because of how well we got along. Even though he is exactly 4 years older than me. I definitely feel like we have a great connection. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us.
A/N 1
This is the end of the first Chapter. I'm sorry if it sucks.

A/N 2
The Hershey Bears are the AHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, and they're a pretty big deal where I'm from. Their home arena holds 10,500 for hockey games. When they won the Calder cup in 2010, there was 11,000 (with extra seating) people at game 6.
