3- Great News

The same day

Elena's POV

The timer on my phone went off, indicating that the results were ready for me to see. I picked up the test, bracing myself for the results. Once I saw the result, my heart skipped a beat in... excitement! The test was positive!
I couldn't believe my eyes, the excitement and relief had literally built up inside of me to the point where I felt like I was going to explode. I couldn't help but let a few tears run down my cheeks, the thought of having another baby was utterly amazing. I couldn't wait to see Stefan's reaction, he'll be so happy.
I picked up the pregnancy test and slowly unlocked the door. As the door opened, Stefan's head tilted up to look at me. You could tell he was anxious just by looking at face. But, I also saw Caroline and Bonnie sat to the side of him.
"Oh, hey guys. I didn't realise you guys were here," I said in shock. I was happy that they were here but I was surprised to see them.
"Yeah, sorry. We wanted to see how you were. Stefan told us you were taking a test, so..." She trailed off her sentence which was quickly finished by Bonnie.
"What's the answer?" She asked, excitedly. That was when my mouth formed a smile. I couldn't contain myself.
"Are you serious?" Stefan asked, a smile forming on his face as well. I nodded my head.
"It's positive, we're going to have another baby, Stefan." I said in pure excitement. From then on all you could hear were squeals, 'aw' and cheering from Caroline and Bonnie. Stefan had swept me into a hug and began to kiss every inch of my face. Seeing such joy in his face was mesmerising, I loved that I've been able to make him feel like that. As we both pulled away from our warm, loving embrace, we rested our foreheads against one another's and just let reality settle in.
"I love you so much, Elena," he whispered, kissing my cheek afterwards. He held his grip around me as I moved my head away to get a clearer view of his beautiful face.
"I love you more," I whispered back, with a small smirk, as his reply was predictable.
"That's not possible, you'll never know how much I love you," he whispered back. Just the thought of having another baby and living a life with Stefan and two children made me smile widely. I couldn't believe I've found someone as incredible as Stefan, and I also couldn't believe that, with our circumstances, we were going to have our second child together.
He gently placed his hands on my cheeks, both of us leaning in, and connected our lips in a deep, meaningful kiss. Feeling Stefan's lips against mine felt so good, I always felt at home when I was with him, and all I wanted to do is cuddle up with Isabella and Stefan. I just wanted to stay in our own little world, away from the troubles of the world.
Our kiss lasted about a minute before Caroline and Bonnie started whispering amongst themselves. As we slowly drew back, a smile was plastered on both of our faces.
"I take it you guys will be postponing the wedding now," Caroline spoke first. I turned around in Stefan's arms to face them, to see that they both had smiles on their faces. Stefan had his arms wrapped around my waist from behind, and I slightly leaned back to rest against his chest.
"Yeah, most likely, I guess it depends. I know you've put in a lot of effort Care and-," I tried to explain before I was cut off by Caroline.
"Elena, that's not important. You guys are going to have another baby, so you can get married afterwards," Caroline said.
"We're very happy for you both. All that matters is if you're both happy." Bonnie added as she stretched her arms out for us to enter them. We both walked over to them and was engulfed in a warm, satisfying hug. During the hug, I let a few tears fall, I assumed hormones have already started to kick in.
"What's wrong?" Caroline asked as all four of us pulled away from the hug.
"Nothing, I'm just really happy," I said as I sank straight back into Stefan's embrace. He lightly kissed the top of my head as I gently ran my fingers across his hand and knuckles.
"I still can't believe that you two are going to have another baby, this is so crazy!" Caroline exclaimed, but not too loudly as we didn't want Isabella to wake up.
"Maybe I might even get a natural birth this time," I said, but wishing I hadn't. Saying that made me think of the reason why I had to have a C-Section with Isabella. I thought of the pain of my leg, the fear, the feeling of being on the verge of death. It all came flooding in until I physically stopped myself. I couldn't think of such things because now was the perfect time to move on. Isabella's birth may not have been perfect but she sure was.
"I'll make sure you get the perfect birth.  And I promise I won't let anything happen to you," he comfortingly whispered to me. Knowing Stefan is here to protect, to love and to just be with me always put my mind at ease. As his warm breath left my skin, I smiled.
"I can have all of you guys there." I gleamed, happy that I could finally have the natural birth every mother wants.
Everything that's happened today has been so amazing. Even though Bonnie's spell was 100% effective, I've always had some doubt. But, now I didn't have to worry about its effectiveness, since we were going to have another baby. Baby Salvatore number two.
