"Be Careful"
Part Eight: Beauty & Our First Picture
"What?" Flora asked Flynn.
Josie was braiding Janice's hair but stopped right in the middle and looked at the two.
"What?"
"I think Flynn just called you beautiful Josie" Flora was shocked, her brother has only called her pretty but not beautiful.
Josie finished the braid in Janice's hair and didn't even move after that.
There was complete silence. Flora eyeballing her brother suspiciously, Janice confused out of her mind.
Still sitting on his bed, Flynn slowly got his camera from his dresser.
"Janice" Flora whispered at the door, she motioned Janice to come out of the room.
Janice whispered something in Josie's ear and left the room. Janice mouthed what she whispered before leaving, Be careful.
Flora closed the door after taking a glance at Josie.
"I didn't mean it-" Flynn played with his camera controls.
"I know. It's just no ones ever called me beautiful but people that are close to me. And Flynn, never I thought you could call me that" Josie stood up. "It's weird of you to do that"
"Why? Is all you see in me some dumb jock that only cares about himself?!" Flynn shouted. "I'm sorry, you know how I-"
"Get hot headed?" Josie finished. She realized she still had a picture he took. "May I put this back?"
"Why are you like that?"
"It's not mine I ju-"
"Why do you talk all nice?" He mocked her "I know your not this shy when Flora's not around"
"It's not my fault I don't think you like me-"
"Who said I didn't like you?"
"You! You said you hated me in third grade Flynn! And last week! That's why I don't talk to you anymore, I thought you wanted me to leave you alone like you said in the fourth grade-"
"Yes but that doesn't mean I like you less"
"Yea it dose! The one time we actually talked was when Flora left us alone and we just argued the whole time! Do you know how bad I felt? You should know I don't like yelling and this is getting old Flynn. You know I don't like yelling. Especially at you" Josie's voice cracked. She never thought she would be admitting these things. "You and Flora have been through so much. She wasn't close to you and you needed someone. I tried my best to get closer to you both but you shut me out, just like you did everybody else. Me and Flora have always tried to help you and be there for you but you just push us away. And you have no idea how much that hurts"
Flynn didn't know what to say.
"Flynn, anything, you can say anything right now-" Joise fixed her glasses.
"I want, you" He said with a long breath in between.
"You want me?-"
