"I know, it hurts"
Part Twelve: Different Now // 2
"Hi, uh-uh, Josephine Ross?" Mitch came in running through the hospital doors as fast as he could.
"Room 103"
"Thanks"
Mitch ran down the hall as fast as he could. He took the stairs and his glasses fell off. He continued his journey to the room until he was stopped by a familiar face.
"Janice, oh my god" Mitch grabbed his daughter into a hug.
Janice couldn't bare to see her sister in that much pain. She had no choice but to leave the room, which probably worried Josie even more.
Janice cried into her dads shoulder "Daddy, Josie's hurt-"
"I know baby I know, she's going to be ok" Mitch ran his fingers through her hair and rubbed her back.
"Kevin is in the room. We tried calling you but there wasn't a respond"
Mitch released the hug and held her arms "And I am so sorry baby, the printer ran out of ink when I was printing and I had to run to the store to get more and I left my phone-I'm sorry"
"It's ok, I just want Josie" Janice sniffed.
Those words were like knives, slowly but surely going into Mitch's heart.
Mitch and Janice went back to the waiting room down the hall from Josie's room. Mitch went to the nurse to see if Josie could have visitors but she said she was not quite yet ready.

Hadley's phone rang.
"It's Mitch" Hadley announced into the house, she slid the phone to answer it "Hello?" she went off into another room.
Flora and Flynn were in their room just worrying. Flora was playing her guitar while Flynn was editing pictures on his laptop on his bed.
"How do you like this one?" Flynn brought his computer down to where Flora was strumming quietly.
Flora looked up at the screen "Isn't tha-"
"Yea, we took it a couple days ago. Best shot I've ever taken" Flynn looked at the screen as well.
"It looks good Flynn, how did you make it all bright and stuff?"
"Oh, Josie showed me the simple things that came to editing and showed me some pointers. It's easy when you have apps but it's harder when you have all control over colors and contrast" Flynn smiled thinking of the time Josie 'tried' showing him how to edit.
"I have some good and bad news" Hadley came into the twins room.
Flynn and Flora looked up from Flynn's laptop at their soon to be mom. They were worried yet excited.
"Good news first" Both of hem shouted.
"Ok, so, me and your dad scheduled a day to go back to court with Stefanie and Gwen" Haldey joined the kids on the floor.
Flynn put his laptop beside him "What!"
"Yea, and get this, the judges are getting tired of hearing Stefanie complaining and lying about her side of the story every other month in court so, if they are taking a lot detector test and if she lies more than five times she will get her ass in jail" Hadley waited for the twins reaction, but mostly Flora's.
"Flora? Aren't you excited?! She'll finally get what she deserves!" Flynn pushed Flora a little on the shoulder.
"I want to come" Flora looked at Flynn straight in the eye "I want to be there when she goes to jail" she looked at Hadley.
Hadley smiled at Flora and nodded her head "Okay, anything to make you happy Flora"
Flora kept a straight face as she glanced at her brother.
"Uh, sorry if I'm interrupting anything but the oven just beeped" Nick peeked his head through the door.
"Oh, that's just the temperature check, thank you Nick" Hadley got up and went downstairs to the kitchen.
"Oh no, oh god HADLEY" Brandon shouted from his room. "Guys, we have to go, now. Get whatever you want just, hurry" He was holding Hadley's phone by his ear as he ran in the twins room then downstairs.
"Wa-what did he mean by needing to leave now?!" Nick asked.
"It means we have to go-wherever where going" Flora got up from the floor and grabbed her phone. "Are you just gonna sit around or what?" She left with the boys still unsure what to do.
"Let's go" Flynn grunted getting up and grabbing his phone, Nick trailing behind while they went downstairs.
Flora looked like she was about to kill someone while Hadley and Brandon were talking to someone on the phone.
"Flora, what's wrong?" Flynn grabbed her arm but she yanked away. "Your eyes are bloodshot and puffy, what happened?"
Flora was breathing hard and her nostrils were flaring like crazy.
"Josie, bad news, very, bad news" Flora grunted between breaths.
"D-dad?" Flynn looked over at Haldey and his dad on the phone.
Haldey looked back at Flynn, then at the phone. The word Coma typed in the last text from Mitch. She slowly went over to the kids, she hugged Flora and rubbed her arm.
"Josie is in a coma"
Flynn shut down. He couldn't breathe. His heart skipped a million times after beating as fast as the speed of light. His mind stopped thinking. Blood stream stopped. All functions were down. Flora was broken into a million pieces. Just thinking about Josie in the hospital bed, laying there, not moving or thinking. The only thing he could do was drop his phone and slowly move over to the chair and sit down.
Nick was completely confused. "Is it that serious?"
"Nick, I don't want to have to call your mom. Just, give us a minute" Brandon stormed in the kitchen.
"Yes sir" Nick went back upstairs.
"We're leaving, now" Brandon got the car keys "I'll give you guys a minute" he went outside.
Hadley kissed Floras head "Do you want to go Flora?" she whispered.
Flora nodded against Hadley's chest. She got her boots on and went to the car.
"Come on Flynn" Hadley rubbed his back from behind.
Flynn quickly hugged his soon to be mom, a tear rolled down his face.
"I know, it hurts" Hadley ran her fingers through his hair.
