"Oh, right, filming yea..."
Part Nine: Muskrat & Filming
"Why did we leave early again?" Janice asked Joise gliding on the skate board beside her.
"Dad is at the set filming with Harley and the rest of the older cast while the younger cast members got an hour to get homework done and stuff before they came to work. Dad texted me that Kevin was gonna be at the house at six to bring us to the neighborhood, set thingy- whatever you call it" Josie looked at her phone again "Hopefully Kevin will understand why we're thirty minutes late"
"Crap" Janice grunted as they rolled up to the house gate. Their house was gaited in. A little of land was theirs out of the gate but all of the corner of the mountain-cliff type structure was the Ross' property. It was at least the size of a football field but more huge than that. (Hard to image, I know)
Josie punched in the key code for the gate to unlock. "Five, two, zero, zero, one" she repeated the numbers as she pressed the corresponding buttons. Josie has never recognized the numbers and how they were similar to her birthday. The twentieth of May, two thousand and one. 5/20/01
The gate buzzed and opened. Kevin looked up from his phone when he heard the loud noise. It gated in a forest type thing and the house in the back, you can have a whole adventure just in their front yard. The house was a little far away from the gate so the girls had to ride on the trail. There were rocks then the driveway that circles the front of the house, leading to the garage.
Janice got off of Josie's bike since she felt bad her sister had to now walk to their house since skateboards don't do so well on gravel.
"When do you think Kevin will be able to get Muskrat back?" Janice asked out of no where.
Josie looked over at her sister "How do you know about her?"
"I just do. Kevin's around a lot and I'm nosey-sorry" Janice answered. "Is he a pit bull or golden retriever?"
"Pit bull and it's a she. Hints the purple collar" Josie responded a little confused.
"What all happened?" Janice for some reason loved asking questions when Josie never felt like talking.
"Kevin's mom and dad got Muskrat for him when he was eleven and when he moved here from Ohio, they wouldn't let him take her"
"Why?"
"That's what he's still trying to figure out" Josie breathed.
They shortly arrived near the driveway so the girls got back on their wheels.
Kevin yelled a long "Hey girls!" As they rolled up. He walked away from his white Mini Cooper, getting closer to the front door and the un-attached garage.
Josie hoped off the board and pushed the garage door button. It opened, the girls put up the bike and board and went back out.
"Hey Kevin, how long have you been here?" Josie gave Kevin a side hug.
"Right now, almost an hour" Kevin hugged Janice.
"Dude, what happened to the spare key dad gave you? you could've went inside" Josie laughed.
"I couldn't bring her in, Mitch wou-"
