Jason's pov

Luke has invited me on his tour to help me get recognized. I'm his opener and of course my girls are coming with me. I am so nervous. I'm about to play for thousands of people. "Ok baby, here goes." I say, worriedly. My hands shaking. "You're gonna do great. Don't worry." She says, kissing me. I smile and pat my daughter's head. Then I walk out onstage. I walk up to the mic. I'm gonna sing a Blake Shelton song. I slap Luke a high five and start singing playboys of the southwestern world. "John Roy was a boy I knew since he was three and I was two, grew up just two little houses down from me. The only two bad apples on our family tree kinda ripened and rotted in our puberty, two kindred spirits bound by destiny."

Miranda's pov

That smile on his face makes me so happy. I'm so glad he's finally doing what he's always wanted to do. "Don't move." I freeze. Someone shoves a gun in my back. Who is it?! "Call for your boyfriend." He says. I'm shaking in my boots. Sierra held tightly. "Jason!" I scream. But he can't hear me. "You better think of something if you want to survive." He growls. I look down at Sierra who'd shaking and staring terrifiedly behind me. "Baby girl, I need you to get daddy okay, do you think you can do that?" She nods and I set her down. The guy grips my shoulder tightly. "Mama!" She whimpers. "Go get daddy!" "Dada." She mumbles then stumbles toward the stage.

Jason's pov

Luke points sidestage. Sierra stumbles onstage. I run over picking her up. "What are you doing silly girl, where's your mama?" She's crying hysterically. "Mama!" She whimpers, pointing backstage. "What's going on!?" "Mama help!" She cries. I hand her to Luke and head backstage. "Baby!" I call. "Jason!" She screams, sounding terrified. I run in the direction I heard her voice and stop short shocked when I see that school shooter with a gun in my girl's back! "How'd you get out of jail?!" "I escaped you idiot." He growls. "Jason, I'm so scared." She whimpers. "Let her go! She's innocent!" I shout. He smiles. "Exactly." He says, shooting her in the back. "No!" I cry, running over and catching her as she falls. "Baby!" I pick her up and run out the door. I call Luke. "Luke, run. Get Sierra out of there. Meet me at my truck. I need you to take Miranda to the hospital. That damn school shooter shot her in the back." "What are you gonna do?" "I'm gonna stop this motherfucker once and for all. He runs out and I run back in, loading my pistol. "Don't move asshole." I growl. He turns around. "How's the girlfriend?" He sneers. "Wouldn't you like to know?" I growl, my hand tightening around my pistol, my teeth grit in fury. "Get ready to meet your maker asshole." I shoot him with my pistol. He falls down. "You're a low life piece of shit." I gripe, grabbing his shirt in my fist. I put the gun to his head. "Have fun in hell." I growl, shooting him in the head. I call Luke back and he's already at the hospital. "How is she?" "They've stabilized her. She's sleeping now and Sierra's calling for you." "Tell her I'm on my way." I reply, getting in my squad car. I flip on the sirens and lights and everyone moves out of my way. I get to the hospital and back to her room. Luke hands Sierra to me. She wraps her arms around my neck. "It's okay sweetheart, your mama is gonna be okay." "Jason." She mumbles opening her eyes. I rush over, holding her hand. "Hey baby." "I'm so sorry you got hurt." "It wasn't your fault." "Yes it was. It's because of me being a cop and arresting that guy-" "That guy was fucked up. You were just doing your job. It's his fault not yours." She says. I smile and kiss her. "I love you so much sweetheart." "I love you too Jay." "Doc says she'll make a full recovery." Luke says a hand on my shoulder. I smile. Thank goodness she'll be okay.
