Miranda's pov

They didn't find a body. So there's search teams on the mountain. The snow is deep though and if he's alive under all of it, he won't be for long. The thought of losing Jason kills me. I can't be alone again. I can't!

Jason's pov

I'm finally able to walk without being dizzy. Although I still don't remember a damn thing about my life. I have a wedding ring on my finger so I was or may still be married. To who, I have no clue. I wish I knew. Ethan, the guy that helped me out, walked in. "Ready for your first day?" I nod, still trying to think. "Yeah man, I'm doing okay. Let's go." We go to the police station and Ethan helps me sign in. "Apparently I used to be a cop before I got amnesia." "Ya know how to shoot?" The chief asks. I nod and pull out a 9 mm I had in a holster at my belt. "Well we need someone on this case." He puts a folder down in front of me. "Ok let's do this."

*a few months later*

Miranda's pov

I watched Ethan sleep. Poor baby. Growing up without his daddy. Mike walked in. I turn around. "They're.... Calling off the search. I'm sorry." He hugs me and I bust out crying. "Oh Jason, I'll love you forever!"

Jason's pov

I was twirling that ring around on my finger, sitting at my desk. Still wondering who it belongs to. Then I hear someone scream, "Oh Jason, I'll love you forever!" I almost fall out of my chair, my heart thundering in my chest. "Who?!" Everyone is staring at me. "You guys didn't hear that?!" I gape, shocked. They look confused. Obviously I was just imagining it. I sigh and stare at the ring. "Oh what am I gonna do?" I whisper, fighting back tears. I head back home, not knowing what to do. There's a knock on the door. "Come in." I mumble. Sherran my neighbor walks in. I wave slightly. "How are you holding up?" She asks. I glare at the ground. "I hate not knowing, Sherran." "What do you need me to do? I wanna help?" I sigh. I pull the ring off. "I wanna remember." I whisper, closing my eyes.

*a few weeks later*

The chief gives me a murder case. I was investigating it, talking to a suspect who was dodging my questions at every chance. "I don't know about any murder, man. Just get off my back." He's lying. But I've given up caring right now. My mind keeps drifting back to my life before. Who was I? Where did I live? Who's the girl behind the ring? All these questions I can't answer. I walk back to my squad car when I hear running footsteps. I spin around, seeing the guy running at me with a knife. "Oh shit!" I gasp, taking off running. I skid into an alleyway, pulling out my tazer. I face him as he throws the knife, slicing my hand. "Yeah I killed him but you won't be able to tell no one." He growls. I back up against the wall, clutching my injured hand. "Please don't-" I shakily say. He strikes me on the head with a glass beer bottle and my life flashes before my eyes. My girl. My daughter. My son. I remember!!! "I REMEMBER!" I turn to the killer before me. I smile. "I locked up bigger losers than you before breakfast." He grits his teeth outraged. "Come at me bro." I taunt. He runs at me and I pull out my pistol and shoot him in the stomach. He falls to the ground, staring at me shocked. "Don't fuck with a Georgia boy." I whisper, returning the pistol and standing back up. I'm back. My eyes go wide. I remember. I've gotta get home! Where am I?! I run out of the alleyway and see a sign. "Little Rock." I whisper read. I jump in my truck and drive all night and the next day to get home.

Miranda's pov

I was rocking Ethan, missing Jason so much since it's my birthday today. "The best birthday present I'll ever get is my husband coming home." Just as I said that, the door downstairs opened. I walk to the door confused. "Who's there?! I'm armed!" I cry, leaning against the wall, holding my baby boy to my chest. "Um baby I'm home." My breath catches in my throat. I drop the gun and stumble to the stairs. Tears fill my eyes. "JASON!!!!!" I scream, running into his arms. "I'm so sorry baby!" "Where were you? What happened?!" I whimper. "I fell down a mountain and hit my head. I got amnesia but I remember now. God baby I'm so sorry I wasn't here." He's crying too. "It's not your fault." "Where's my babies?" I hand Ethan to him. "Hey little guy. I missed you so much." He wipes his eyes. "Sierra's at school." He smiles and hugs me. "I love you so much." He chokes out. "I love you too." I whimper, crying softly against his chest. He brushes his thumb across my cheek. "I will never leave you again." He shakily whispers. Just then the door behind him opens.

Jason's pov

Tears come to my eyes when I hear my daughter's squeaky teary voice whisper daddy. I shakily turn around and fall to my knees as she runs over. I hug her tight gladly. The little six year old is crying hard. "Daddy's here." I whisper soothingly. "And nothing is gonna tear me away from my family again."
