Jason's pov
*6 years later*
"Oh baby why! Do I do that to you!!" I proudly sing rocking out onstage with my band behind me. Retiring from police work and throwing my life into music again was the best decision I ever made. The fans were cheering loudly. I saw my now 13 year old daughter partying with her hands in the air, like the world was hers. I smile and pull her onstage. "I love you Daddy!" She says hugging me. "I love you too angel.
*A few hours later*
I walked backstage and waved to the security guys. Whoa. He looks a little young to be working security. I find Mike, my awesome producer and manager. "Has that kid been properly trained? He only looks 18." Mike nods. "He is 18. You'll never believe who that kid is." He calls the name Marcus. The boy walks over. "So you remember when you were playing that first night at the Bowling Inn on Music Row?" I nod slowly and the pieces fall into place. "You're the kid who stole from the register, aren't you?" He nods. "in the flesh. You inspired me sir. I've been working security and volunteering to help kids like myself. You... You changed my life." Wow. He hugs me catching me off guard but I hug him back. "Thank you." I force myself not to tear up. "All in a day's work son. How's your sister and mother?" "I got a 16,000 dollar grant when I applied at the police academy and I used it to pay for physical therapy for mom. She's back on her feet and working as a secretary. And Angela is doing great at school, good grades, lots of friends, not getting into trouble." He says then winks. I laugh softly. "It's awesome to see you again, kid." Just then my beloved wife calls me. Our tired 9 year old looked like he was about to fall asleep standing up. "Head to the bus baby. I'll be there soon." I say waving. She smiles and pats Ethan's head. "Let's get to bed, sleepyhead." I smile softly. God I love my life.
