Jason's pov
Luke is gonna stay with her while I go to work. She's still in the hospital but I hope she gets out soon. I see a girl standing in front of a Honda with the hood up covered in smoke. She was thumbing for a ride so I stopped to help. She glances over. "Need help?" I ask. She didn't say a thing. She just got inside. I looked over at her, waiting for her to tell me where she was going. She stuck a gun to my chest and told me to drive. My hands tensed up around the wheel. "What are you doing?" I growl through gritted teeth. "Just drive." She hisses. Then I notice bags at her feet. "You're really stupid to be doing this. I'm a cop." "Well, you're about to be a dead one if you don't drive." I don't want to die so I start my car. "Where are we going?" She kept looking back like something was coming. "Pick up the pace. We ain't slowing down and ain't stopping for nothing." She growls. I press harder on the gas, picking up speed. She was laughing at how scared I was. I've got a family to get back to! I can't die! I hit the brakes when we came around the corner, a mile of blue lights, guns aimed to point. She tells me to get out so I do. Whatever she's got is what they want. She walks around to my side, the gun in my back. "Make one wrong move and you're dead." She warns. "I'm not an idiot. I know how a damn gun works." I gripe, thoroughly pissed off. Suddenly I heard one of the other cops David shout my name. He told me she robbed the bank. She was armed and dangerous and she almost got away but they found her. She pins my arm to my back, making me wince as the damn gun digs deeper into my back. "Please don't shoot me!" "If I get away, I won't have to." I'm terrified. "Let him go!" Chief shouts. I don't know how I didn't know she was a robber. "You guys let me go, I'll let him go!" She yells. "Get back in the car. But in the passenger seat." She whispers in my ear. "You'll never get away with this." I grumble. "If you want to live, I will." We both get back in the truck and she peels away faster than ever. I have to hold my hat to my head. "Woman! You're crazy!" I yell, putting my seatbelt on. She smiles and shouts in excitement as we drive. She hits the brakes. What's her plan now? She leaned across the seat and unbuckled my seatbelt. My hands were sweating and shaking in fear. What's she doing? She kissed me on the cheeks and said "Thanks for the help. Now hold on boy." I already was. She yanked the wheel and hit the gas and I held my breath. We flipped so many times we should've been dead.
*several hours later*
I woke up later in the hospital, my side burning. That damn girl got away. It's late. Really late. I look at my phone and it's 2 in the morning. My head is pounding. The door opens and I'm shocked to see the girl from before. "You're the craziest chick I've ever met." She smiles. "So I've been told." She says, walking over. "Why are you even here?" She doesn't answer just presses a button, causing something to flow into the IV, making me dizzy. "What are you doing?" I mumble, starting to go unconscious. "Sleep well." She whispers before I black out.
Miranda's pov
Luke tells me Jason was involved in a car wreck. I quickly sit up. He helps me up and to his room. Luke pushes the door open and I stare in shock at a girl kissing him. "Uh! Hello?!" I scream. She looks over at us. He's asleep. "Get away from him!" Luke shouts. She shakes her head and goes back to kissing him. Oh this chick is really pissing me off. "Oh you're dead bitch!" I yell. "Nah ah, don't move." She says, holding up a pocket knife. What's she gonna do?! I freeze in my tracks.
Jason's pov
The fuzziness clears but I keep my eyes closed so this psycho doesn't know I'm awake. Then I hear Miranda and Luke. "Nah ah, don't move." The crazy girl says. I'm tempted to open my eyes and am about to when she kisses me. My eyes go wide and I shove her off me. "What the hell is going on!?" Miranda cries. "This is the crazy chick who jacked my cruiser!" I gripe. "And who caused the wreck." I shakily stand up. "You're pretty confident for someone completely cornered." Luke says. I pull the IV out of my arm so she couldn't get me again with whatever drugs were in it. She's focused on Luke so I quickly grab the knife and put her hands together. I don't have my handcuffs because I'm in a hospital gown but I'm strong enough to hold her even through this headache. "You're under arrest. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have a right to a lawyer. If you don't have one, one will be appointed to you." She spins out of my grasp, which surprises me and the knife falls from my hand. She grips the gown in her fists and kisses me again. I stumble back onto the bed, caught off guard. I'm too shocked to even push her away. Instead Luke pulls her off me. "Thank God Luke." I mumble, laying down. "What the hell is wrong with you!?" Luke just drags her out. "Sorry ya had to see all that baby." "It's okay. Are you okay? After that wreck, they said you probably wouldn't wake up." She says, walking over. "I'm fine. My head's just hurting." I'm glad she's not mad about that girl kissing me. I sit up, my head swimming just from that movement. "You aren't mad about that chick kissing me?" "I'm mad but not at you. I could tell it was annoying you." "Obviously babe, you're the only girl I want kissing me." She smiles and does just that. I pull her onto the bed, my arms around her waist as we kiss. I love it when she kisses me. My hands tangle in her hair. "I love you baby girl." "I've never loved anyone more." She whispers, her hands against my chest. We get all tangled up beneath the sheets in the bed of that hospital room.
