Jason's pov

*in his dream*

I'm wearing my police uniform again. What's going on? I hear screams and pull my gun from my holster. I realize I'm running through Sierra's elementary school. I follow the screams and reach the room. A guy with a gun stands by the chalk board. "Freeze!" I shout, pointing my gun at him. He smiles at me, then moves to the side. My heart nearly stops seeing Sierra cowering in a corner of the room. The guy points the gun at her and I scream, pointing my gun at him shakily. "Drop the gun now!!" I yell. "Or what?" He says teasingly. My hands are shaking like crazy. "Please don't shoot her!" I cry, dropping my gun and hitting my knees. The guy laughs and moves the gun. Sierra runs over and I hug her to my chest, shielding her body with mine.

*he wakes up*

My body is soaked in sweat. I look around the room in shock. I take a deep breath and realize it was all a dream. My stomach feels queasy just thinking about it. I call mom who's still babysitting her. "Jason, it's 4 AM what are you doing?" She grumbles, her voice choked with sleep. I don't want her going to school in a few hours, not after that dream. "Ma, I know you'll think I'm crazy but don't send Sierra to school today." "Why not?" "Just don't. Promise me you won't. Please." I beg. "O....K... But just tell me why?" "Because it'll make me feel better. I'll explain it all when I get home. You have to swear you won't send her to school." "I swear I won't." We get off and I set the phone down, taking a shaky deep breath. "She'll be okay." I whisper, closing my eyes. But there's no way I'm going back to sleep after that dream. I sigh and pull myself out of bed and go to the bathroom of our hotel. I splash water in my face. I keep seeing the terrified look on her face. "She'll be okay." I say again.

Sierra's pov

I get up for school but Grandma said I'm not going today. "Why not?" I ask. "Dad said not to send you." She says. I shrug and go with it.

*later*

His mom's pov

I see on the news that there was a school shooting at Sierra's school!! I almost choke on my soda. If she went, she could've been killed!! I call Jason right away.

Jason's pov

I get offstage to my phone ringing. I answer it. "Jason, how'd you know?" Ma cries. "Know what?" I ask, confused and wiping sweat off my face. I set my guitar down. "There was a shooting at her school! How'd you know!?" My hands shake in shock and surprise. "I-I didn't." I mumble, sitting down shocked.

Miranda's pov

Jason sits down looking upset, his phone to his ear. He suddenly drops it and leans his head back. I run over. "Jason what's wrong? What happened?" I ask, freaked out. "S-School shooting." He stutters. My eyes go wide. "Is Sierra-" He sits up quickly holding my hands. "She's fine baby." He says, hugging me. "Why are you so freaked out then?" "Because last night, I had a dream about it." He whispers, "when I woke up, I called Mom and begged her not to let her go to school. She kept her home, and she was okay." He says, shakily. I hug him. "It's okay then Sierra is okay." "Yeah but what about the rest of them? The other kids." He says, worried. His I want to save everyone instinct. "I'm gonna call Chief see if he knows." He says, picking his phone back up. I kiss him and he squeezes my hand. "Hey Chief, I heard-" A pause. "So they're okay?" Another pause. He smiles and gets off. "They stopped him in time. Noone was killed." He says. "That's great!" I say, hugging him. He puts his phone back in his pocket. Neil walks over to where we are. "Hey Jason, they're asking for an encore?" He says. A smile lands on my happy cowboy. I rest a hand on my stomach. Jason kisses me and heads back to the stage for the encore. He's going to make such a great singer.
