Alyssa's POV

Dead people. Thats all I saw. They surrounded me. I turned around to see, Thalia's tree standing in the distance. My mouth hung open in shock. " What is this?" I mumbled to myself. I heard someone groan in anguish, nearby. I ran to the sound, trying not to step on anyone. The groaning grew louder, until I found the source. I knelt down to the demigod. I couldn't see the boys face. All I saw was messy jet black hair, and he was on his side clutching his stomach and moaning in pain. I turned the demigod ever so slowly, trying not to hurt him. Once flipped over, I was met with sea-green eyes. I gasped. The boy's eyes stared at me intensely and my hands shook uncontrollably.

"Percy. Are you okay?" I asked. I willed my hands to stop shaking and attend to my brothers wounds. He smacked my hand away. "Percy let me help!" I pleaded. I didn't want to lose my brother, not again. He took a deep breath in and exhaled, without breaking eye contact. He took another breath and said the words that would haunt me forever.

"It's all your fault. You co-could of saved us all."  With those last words, he closed his eyes and stopped breathing. I panicked.

"Percy! Percy come back! Please comeback I need you-" I moved his body on my lap and cradle him like a mom would a baby. "-I'm sorry I didn't save you!-" Tears rolled down my cheek. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry," I repeated while rocking him back and forth in my arms. "Please forgive me." I closed my eyes and held my big brother close to me. His skin wasn't warm anymore, but very cold. Tears still rolled down my cheeks.

"Alyssa." I opened my eyes to see a curly haired boy standing not to far from me. I smiled weakly at the boy and moved Percy carefully down to the ground, next to a random demigod. I made my way to the curly headed boy, but he ran off. I chased after him, trying not to step on any dead people. I was so focus on catching the demigod, that I didn't see, that we ended up in the North Woods.

     "Leo, wait-"

"Go away," he interrupted. My eyes grew wide.

"Leo. I- whats going on? You know I care for you, you're  my friend. Why did you run off like that?" I asked. He looked really annoyed, at how many questions I asked him.

"Why care for me, if I never cared for you. I never liked you. You were just a distraction for me," Leo said very coldly. I chocked back a sob. I shook my head.

"That's not true. You told me yourself you loved me!" I said while taking a step forward, towards him.

"I lied. Who could ever love someone like you, you monster," he snarled at me. I took a step back. I shook my head over and over again. Tears were running down my cheeks again and they wouldn't stop. "Why would I ever love a monster! There ugly, just like you-"

"Stop. Stop, please, just stop," I whimpered. Who knew words could hurt so much.

"-You say you're a hero, but you're not. No one will love you. Not me, not your brother. No one, you little monster," Leo exclaimed while taking a step forward, and raised his hand into the air. I stumbled backwards and fell to the ground. I sat there anticipating the hit, that never came. I then heard a chuckle  from the boy, I cared so deeply for.

"Weak. What a pathetic excused for a hero," he said in disgust. Leo spat down at my feet. I dare not look up. I brought my knees up to my chest, and wrapped my arms around them. I rocked back and forth over and over again. A minute passed and the next thing I heard was a bird flapping its wings, flying away. I looked up to see Leo was gone.

I got up and made my way back to where I left Percy. After a couple of minutes I came into view of all the dead demigods laying down on the soft green grass. I stumbled over my own legs, but quickly caught myself. I turned around and finally saw so many familiar faces on the ground...dead. I covered my mouth and choked back a sob, the reality finally hitting me. Percy words replayed in my head. "Its all my fault." I took a deep breath. "I'm a monster," I whispered to myself.

"My,my. My child. Look at what you caused. You could have prevented all of this, and yet you didn't. What a shame," said a female voice. I turned around to see Gaea walking towards me with her eyes still closed. I pointed my shaking finger at her.

"What did you do," I exclaimed. She smiled at me.

"What did I do? My child you should be asking, what you did. Your powers caused all this to happen." I looked down at my hands in horror.

"No...No! I'd never do such a thing!" I shook my head in disbelief.

"The fates have been playing cruel games, especially with you," Gaea said while walking around me half-asleep. "In time you'll find yourself lost and no one to turn to. They'll fear you and you'll be looking for guidance, that no one will offer, but me. So come join me, my child and I will help you with your great abilities and put them to good use," she said while touching my hand. I pulled back.

"Never! I'll never go to you for help," I hissed at her.

"Foolish girl! You'll regret your decision," she sneered in my ear. I shivered and my heart beat fast, I felt a hand around my neck. I gasped for air.

.......

I jolted up in my bed, out of breath. Sweat trickling down my forehead and tears rolling down my cheeks. I wrapped my arms around me, trying to comfort myself. I heard a knock on the door and looked up. I cleared my throat and wiped away the tears. "Come in!" The door opened and revealed Leo standing in the doorway. I smiled weakly at him.

"Hey! I'm glad your up, because we have trouble," he said. Leo looked back, from where he came from, as if he expected someone to attack him at any moment. I nodded and got out of bed and quickly grabbed my sword. I didn't change clothes, after what happen at Charleston Harbor; so I made my way towards Leo who was still blocking the door way. He looked at me concerned. I coughed.

"You don't have to come out and fight if you're not feeling like it," Leo said in a concerned voice. I rolled my eyes.

"I'll be fine Leo. Now we can stand here all day talking about how we feel, or help our friends that are in trouble. Your pick," I sarcastically said. He raised his eyebrows at my tone of voice.

Then he stepped aside, "Ladies first." He gave me his famous smile. I rolled my eyes and made my way up the stairs, to see what's going on.
