Leo's POV

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Yup that's the fire alarm going off. My day couldn't get any worse. So I should probably tell you everything from the beginning. So my best friend is coming over to visit and I really like her. I also want this day to be perfect!  I'm hoping I could ask her out. So this all started out with me trying to  pick up the cake I order, from this new baker store here in Dallas, Texas. It was a new store and I thought I'd give it a shot. Now for your information I can't bake a cake for the life of me. Now I can make and fix machines or even make you my famous tacos, but a cake, yea not so much. Anyways this new store got my order all wrong! Come on I've been preparing for this day for a whole month. You heard me a month. You might be thinking " Wow this girl must mean a lot to you." Your right she sure does. Sorry girls Leo Valdez is off limits. Back to what I was saying, I had a full on argument with the manger then, I stormed out of the place.  So I decided to make the cake myself. I mean how hard is it to follow  instructions on a box. Well... 5 eggs, 2 flour bowls and a burnt cake later, the whole kitchen was a mess. Apparently making a cake isn't as easy as it looks. Not only did I burn the whole cake, but I somehow got egg and flour all over me and splattered my aunts kitchen walls. I sighed in frustration. I started to clean up the mess, when I heard a knock on the door. I walked over to open the door not caring how I looked, to find Alyssa staring at her phone. She then looked up and her face was priceless. Alyssa shook her head and started to laugh.

" What happened to you?" She looked me up and down while smiling really big.

" Uh... Well I was trying to make a cake for you... I mean us... You. No I mean us. Yea us." Smooth Leo, smooth.

Well I think your suppose to put the flour in the bowl, not on you silly." Alyssa giggled.

" Yea, I know. Making a cake is not as easy as it looks, okay." She just smiled and nodded. After cleaning me up and the kitchen we headed out to enjoy the rest of the day together. We had so much fun and doing stupid things with each other. We finally made it to the park and our little picnic was already set up for us on top of the hill. The food was all set out and a candle was in the middle of it all, trying to make the scene romantic. Alyssa gasped when she saw it.

" Leo! Its so beautiful, you shouldn't have!" I just smiled at her.

" I'd do anything for you." Alyssa smiled and blushed. She then gave me a hug and we sat down and ate. The view was so beautiful and the sun was just setting. There was a warm breeze blowing and it blew through her blond hair. She just dyed her hair a year ago to that color. I don't know why and I never bothered to ask. Although, I prefer her natural dark brown hair with those light brown natural highlights of her's instead. We talked for awhile and I asked how her dad was doing. I like the guy he's  nice and very funny. When I asked her, her face fell and I asked if everything was okay. She shook her head and told me that he just passed away a couple of days ago. I stayed quiet and I knew saying sorry wouldn't help the problem. I should know, I hated it when people told me that when my mom died. So I decide to drop the topic. After talking, laughing, and eating it was getting late and I had to go. Before we left Alyssa was telling me something, but I guess I got so distracted from her beauty I didn't hear anything that she said. Alyssa waved her hand in front of me and asked me if I was okay. I just smiled at her sweetly.

" Yea, I'm fine. Can I ask you something, before we both leave." Alyssa nodded and moitoned for me to contuine. " Well... I've known you since we were like young. And I knew from the moment I layed eyes on you, I knew you were the one. So I was wondering if you'd be my girlfriend?" It was quiet and you can hear the crickets chirp. " Uhh forget I said anything it was probably a dumb quest-."

" Yes!" I think my face looked funny because she was laughing now.

"What!?"

" You heard me, I said yes. I'd love to be your girlfriend." I had a huge smile on my face and no one could wipe that smile off.

" Okay then. I guess that makes us official!" Alyssa giggled. Oh how I love her giggles.

" It sure does! Hey we should start packing up now, its getting pretty late." I nodded and helped my wonderful girlfriend pack everything up. We walked down the hill hand in hand. We finally got to the bottom of the hill and Alyssa's car was waiting for her.

" Hey Alyssa, I forgot to tell you something." She stopped walking and turned to look at me.

" What is it?" I scratched the back of my neck nervously.

" Well my Tia is sending me to this new boarding school and I won't be able  to see you that much." Her face fell. It hurt me seeing her so sad. I walked up to her and hugged her tightly."  Hey its okay. We'll be fine. We can still keep in touch. I know long distance relationships don't last that long, but we'll make it work. I promise." I pulled back from the hug to see her face. She nodded and forced a smile. I then leaned in and kissed her passionately. We stayed like that for a moment and we both pulled back for some air. We leaned our foreheads together.

" I'll miss you," Alyssa whispered.

" Right back at you." We then kissed one more time and then I watched her drive away. I walked home happy, that I got the girl of my life. Although I hope our relationship will last. I usually never get the girl,  they either don't like me or their out of my league. Which all the girls I liked in the past (before I accepted my feelings for Alyssa) have always been both. Hopefully now that I'm in a relationship things won't go down hill, like they always do.  I shook all the negative thoughts out of my head and thought happy thoughts. I arrived at my house and packed up to go to my new school tomorrow.

Alyssa's P.O.V

Yes!! Finally Leo asked me out. I'm so glad to have him as my boyfriend. Ever since my dad died everything's been blah and not so good. Although I think things might change for the best. After hanging out with Leo I'm the happiest girl on the planet. I'm still wondering why he has to go to this new school. Well at least I don't have to lie to him about not being able to hang out with him as much either. Tonight I'm heading to New York to go to camp, Chiron called for me. So I'm heading over to the airport right now and boarding the plane. I found my seat and sat down and put my earphones on and blocked the world out. I then dozed off, and thought about the past events and why Chiron wants me at camp all of a sudden.
