Alyssa's P.O.V.
Leo and I raced up the stairs to be met with a huge sea serpent (or as Percy would call it 'Shrimpzilla')! The boat rocked back and forth, throwing us all off balance. I tumbled into Leo, who caught me and our faces were only centimeters apart. I pulled away from him quickly and coughed a thank you. He nodded and we started to help out friends fight the monster.
Everyone was yelling and trying not to die. Coach Hedge was screaming out 'Die Shrimpzilla! Die' the entire time he was blasting stuff at it. The other demigods were using their sword or powers. While I sliced the monster with my sword and it kept from coming back. I grunted. So I decided to put my powers into some good use. I threw flames at it, water, lighting, anything I could think of at the moment. It was tiring. I heard Leo scream out Hazel's name and saw them standing next to a box of greek fire. Leo pointed at it, and Hazel nodded. My eyes widen, and a tentacle came towards me and I threw a flame at it. Either Leo's crazy or he's just straight out crazy. I shook my head and started concentrating back onto the ugly monster. I threw fire balls, after fire balls at the serpent; until black dots surrounded my vison. I stumbled a bit and let my guard down. Smack! I was thrown backwards and my body hit the deck. The last thing I saw was Hazel and Leo falling into the water. Then I blacked out.
Percy's P.O.V.
Finally the serpent was gone. It looks like Leo's plan worked after all. Although, now three of our friends are missing and the whole ship is wrecked. Sweat dripped off my forehead and I took a deep breath in and exhaled. I put riptide away by turning it back into a pen, then put it in my pocket. I turned around to see Piper and Annabeth helping Jason up and Coach Hedge still screaming that he wanted to kill that son of the serpent. What I didn't see is Alyssa, my little sister. I turned the other direction to see her sprawled on the ground unconscious. I raced over and moved her on her back. I bent forward to hear her heart beat. Pat. Pat. Pat. I sighed in relief. I don't know what I would've done if she was dead. I shook the thought off. I picked my little sister up and made my way to the sick bay. I kicked open the door to the room and placed her on a bed. I pulled a chair and sat in it and starred at her, waiting for her to wake up. Five minutes passed and nothing happened, I started to get worried. I was so worried that I didn't notice that Annabeth walked in.
"Percy...Percy...Percy!" I snapped out of my thoughts and turned to be met by gray eyes starring into my sea green ones. "Are you okay," She asked. I gave her a weak smile and looked back at my sister. I felt a hand on my shoulder. "She'll be fine. She's a fighter just like her big brother," Annabeth reassured me. I placed my hand on top of hers and kissed it. She squeezed my shoulder. "I actually came down here to see if you could search for Hazel, Frank, and Leo in the ocean?" I nodded and got out of my chair.
"Yea. I'll go." She nodded. I made my way to Alyssa and bent down to give her a kiss on her forehead. "I'll be back," I whispered. Then I made my way up the deck with Annabeth by my side.
A Couple Of Hours Later...
I stumbled down the stairs, exhausted. I've just spent at least a good two hours searching for Hazel, Frank, and Leo. I searched the whole sea floor for them, I even asked some sea creatures that I met. Although I still couldn't find them. So now all we have to do is pray to the gods and wait. Hopefully they're alive. Shut up they are alive! I thought to myself. I guess I was so busy talking to myself again that my body self consciously lead me to the sick bay. I stood in the doorway and saw my sister lying on the bed, her chest rising up and down. I sighed. At least she's okay. I made my way towards her and sat by her bed. I grabbed her hand and squeezed. I brought it up to my lips and kissed it. I bowed my head while still holding her hand. "Dad if your listening. Please wake Alyssa up. I'd really appreciate it." I waited. I was answered with silence. I lifted my head and gently put her hand down, next to her. I stood up and made my way over to the door, when I heard a fit of coughing behind me. I turned around to see my sister awake. He...He...Thanks dad. I thought to myself.
"Well are you going to stand there all day and watch your sister cough to death or you gonna do something about it," she croaked at me. She coughed some more.
"Uh...right." I made my way over to the sink, filled a cup of water, sat my sister up and she took a sip and then I sat it down on the counter. "So...," I awkwardly said. I shoved my hands into my pocket. Alyssa rolled her eyes.
"So? Really Percy, is that all you have to say to your long lost sister?" She raised her eyebrows at me. I shrugged. I mean what do you expect me to say to my sister, who I thought was dead for years. 'Oh hey sorry I stopped looking for you because I thought you were dead. But welcome back!' I shook my head. I heard my name and pulled myself out of my thoughts. "Well?" Alyssa folded her arms and looked at me sternly, waiting for an answer.
"Uh-Hi?" She rolled her hazel eyes at me and shook her head.
"Unbelievable," she mumbled underneath her breath. I threw my hands up into the air.
"Well, what do you want me to say!"
"Oh, I don't know. How about, 'Hey how are you!' or 'its been awhile but, how's life treating you'. I don't know anything," she frustratingly said. I sighed.
"I know we haven't talked since Utah, but look around Alyssa. Where in the middle of the sea, fighting who knows what. We really don't have time t-t-to catch up!" Her eyes drifted down to her hands and tears started to roll down her cheeks. I reached my hand towards her cheek and wiped away her tears. She sniffled.
"It's just that, I haven't seen you in forever and I miss having a family. You don't know what I've been through, Percy." She shook her head and wiped her tears away. I grabbed her hand and squeezed it to reassure her.
"Hey, hey look at me," I said. She looked up, her watery eyes meeting mine. "I know I'll never know what you've been through, but I swear on the river stxy that once this whole things over, we'll talk." she nodded. "Come here." I gave my little sister a tight embrace and said soothing words to her. I kissed her head and pulled back. "You okay?"
"Yea, I'm fine. Thanks." She smiled sweetly at me.
"Well then, you feeling good to go up deck?" She nodded. So I helped her out of the bed and we made our way up the stair outside.
