It was finally the morning. I had been tossing and turning the whole entire night. I couldn't get my mind off of what had previously happened.Last night I got more messages from the unknown person. The only reason that it's bothering me this time is that it could change my life. Before they just threatened to tell the world that Adam and I are together. I wasn't worried because that's technically not the truth. We're not a couple... Yet... I hope.
But this time they said, "Until I change your life forever." That's terrifying to me. What if they threaten my family? What if they threaten my friends? What if they take someone's life?
I sit up and shake my head to get rid of these thoughts. We are going to the police today to see if they can help. But I can't help but think... What if they know that we are getting help from the police? That stuff happens in the movies and what if it happens in real life too?
Eventually Adam wakes up and we get ready to go to the police station. We both wear extremely casual clothes in hopes that no one will see us. Luckily no one does.
"Adam are you sure about this? Maybe it can all just fade away," I say as I stop in front of the building. Maybe this is a bad idea?
"We are already here. Why do you wanna turn back now?" He asks as he walks back towards me.
"Well every time there's a movie with this situation in it they don't go to the police station because they are afraid that they'll get caught and killed and the-" I ramble on until Adam cuts me off.
"This doesn't happen in movies because they are idiots. Also this is reality, not some movie with a terrible storyline." He takes my hands and looks me in the eye. Immediately I feel comfort and protection. "We will get through this," he states.
I just nod, suddenly getting a surge of courage. He let's go of one hand and turns towards the building. As we walk toward it my stomach starts doing flip flops. My social anxiety and nerves have gone through the roof and have hit the moon.
"Hello, how may I help you?" A fairly nice looking, guy behind a counter asks. Adam pulls me towards him and he looks at me. I give him an expression of fear and he understands what I'm getting at. I will not be doing any talking today.
"Uh, I would like to report blackmail." Adam waits for the man to respond. He starts typing away on her computer, probably pulling up a file to store information in.
"Please have a seat while I get a detective ready for your interrogation." He does some more typing as we walk away.
Interrogation? That sounds terrifying. Why didn't he use interview instead? We aren't the suspects! We are the victims!
After a minute it so a lady walks through a door. She glances up from he paper work and signals for us to follow her. We do as she commands and we end up in a small room with mirrors as walls.
Great, I have to watch my terrified expression as this goes on. It also doesn't help to know that one of those mirrors are false and someone is watching us.
"Okay what are your names?" She looks at me first but Adam speaks up.
"Her name is Skyler Nicole. My name is Adam Lambert." As he says this the lady's eyes light up in recognition.
"Oh wow! Um okay... How have you been receiving this blackmail?" You could see her lose it and then pull herself back together in seconds. I wish I could do that.
"A phone call and text messages."
"Okay, may I see the phone that has the information on it?" Adam looks to me and I hand him my phone. He unlocks it with ease and pulls up the recent phone calls. He shows the lady the phone as she scribbles something in on the clip board.
"Okay can you give me important details on this phone call?"
Adam looks to me but I stay quiet until I realize that I'm the only one who heard the conversation. I clear my throat and begin to talk. "I-It uh... The person told me to leave Adam alone or there would be consequences."
"Okay. Was it a male or female?"
I push my eyebrows together in concentration. "The uh voice was distorted but it had a mans tone."
"Okay and for the text messages," the lady says after she finishes writing.
Adam changes my phones screen to the one with the messages. She once again scribbles something down and asks me the same question again. By the time she finishes writing she speaks up again.
"We will need to confiscate your phone because it is a piece of evidence. Also, are you aware that the 2 threats were sent from different phones?"
I look at Adam and shake my head. He does the same but talks with it. "No I had no clue."
"Okay, I was just wondering because that's pretty odd. Either your criminal is a smart cookie or a clueless cookie. Well thank you for giving us this information. I would advise you tons have body guard with you at all times, even in your home. Thank you once again and have a nice day."
I hand my phone to the lady and she puts it in a ziplock bag. We leave the room and the lady tells us to wait before we leave. She gives us a card with a number on it.
"Call this number if you ever need to leave your house. I strongly advise for you to have a body guard while you aren't in the security of your home. Are we clear?"
Adam says and I nod. She tells us that we will receive news within the next 5 hours. Adam and I leave and head back to his house. Now we just wait.
