"Look at that delicious snack waiting for us!" a vampire to my right said licking his red lips hungrily.

"Yes! She does look mouthwatering doesn't she?" another one with red hair and glistening red eyes said.

I had to admit, every single one of these vampires were exceptionally good looking. I wondered why such creatures would have such an appealing appearance.

They started coming closer to me. The one who spoke first then sniffed deeper through his nostrils.

"Wait a minute... is that royal blood? Yes it is! Oh boy are we at the right place at the right time!" he droned on. This was staring to get annoying.

Think Evelan Light Think! I was so panicky that I was even using my surname.
Then a thought suddenly made it's way into my head.

"Of course!" I shouted out loud- which was very embarrassing because every eye was now on me looking at me confused.

I remember The Torch spell I had learned.
I placed my hands in front of me and pulled them apart creating blinding light. The vampires screamed and dropped to the ground. Thank goodness for that because I needed some time to think of a new strategy.

I thought for a few seconds when the idea popped up like those pop-up ads on the Internet. It was a mind blowing idea.

I stared at the vampires intensely and soon they were all howling in agony.
I was melting their minds from the inside, slowly concentrating on their brains and picturing it being crushed.

"S-stop!"

But I couldn't. I couldn't find it in me to stop. The Darkness that was slowly consuming me was taking over my every sense and it made me feel... alive. I felt so alive that I almost killed the poor demons lying on the ground.

It was only when my gaze drifted to the brightness of the moon did I stop.
I dropped to the ground from weakness and started at the vampires who now had blood slowly coming out of their noses and ears.
What have I done? The question seemed to keep on nagging at me, making me feel like a monster. I hated the fact that I was so chaotic.
A hand on my shoulder soon brought me out of my daze and I was met with beautiful yet familiar blue eyes and snow white hair.

"E-Eve?" the stranger asked.

Then I realised who this stranger was.

James. My old best friend. The one who I used to play with when I was a young child. The poor vampire boy who had to leave because of his eating habits...

"James?"

Quickly I jumped up and stared at him. I noticed just how handsome he'd become, but the mischievous smirk on his mouth was still there.

"What are you doing here?" I asked trying to stop myself from crushing him into a hug.

He scratched his head nervously.

"I am King of the Vampires so I own a castle in a town near this place. My subjects told me about a stronghold of binders who were weak and easy meals so I came along. You know what binder blood is like to us don't you?"
I gave a small nod. "I'm really sorry though, I did not know you would be here...I just um thought it was some weak binders," he said with a guilty expression on his face.

I couldn't resist the urge anymore. I grabbed him into a bone crushing hug.

"Oh how I missed you James! I can't believe that you are here!" I said all giddy and happy.

He stiffened at first, then wrapped his huge muscular arms around me.

"Wow you smell good," he said sniffing me.
