It had been two days since I got sick, but my body was now slowly getting better. I was slowly becoming a human. It was an absolute miracle. The medicine was starting to work and James helped speed up the healing process by offering his blood which I refused. He ended up sneaking it into my food though.
"So Macy, what are you guys doing all day. I never seem to hear anyone anymore." I said hoarsely.
"Yeah, because we are training for the attack-well more like assassination- on the Dark palace. We talked about it before you passed out...again. We all train twenty four seven in that dark weaponry building, you know the one next to this homestead and the chicken pen? You can see it can't you?" She asked.
" Yes, Jackson showed it to me," I said.
I could not bear to even say his name. He was a traitor.
" I'm sorry about what he did to you, I just can't believe that he would do that. I mean he was your best friend and all," she kept on blabbering, but I zoned out. I was wondering if I would ever be able to have visions of the past again. Even though it was frightening at first, it now made me feel more comfortable with my present. It gave me the answers I needed.
"Macy, when do you guys plan on attacking?" I asked.
" The day of your coronation, because then the Darkness is at it's weakest, and the Light is at it's strongest," she said.
" But what does the Light being stronger have to do with us. We don't have Light binders,"
"True, but we have grey binders. We just need someone to teach us light binding...and that someone is you," she said.
" Me? I have no power!"
"But you used to have it," I looked around hesitantly, "come on, Aaron asked me to come and ask you to help us, don't make him disappointed," she said.
Her lips were pouted and her eyes were big.
" Fine, but I can't walk properly," I said.
She gave me a smile and rushed out of the room. When she came back about ten minutes later, she had a wheelchair with her.
I looked at it in disgust.
" I am not bed ridden. Crutches are fine, but not this!"
"Fine! You are so stubborn! "
She came back in a few moments holding two brand new crutches.
I took them and rested my hands on them. Slowly I shifted to the ground and placed my body weight on the crutches.
I took one slow step, then another, then another. Finally I was walking like a normal person...on crutches.
Macy helped me out of the room and up the stairs and out of the homestead. The air smelled fresh and new. I missed the smell of the outdoors.
"Man, I hate being in that room. I need my old room back!" I said.
Macy just laughed and motioned for me to go forward. She led me to the huge building behind the homestead which contained the weapons.
As soon as we walked in I heard shouting. There were hundreds and hundreds of binders training with each other. They were using weapons and magic and even their own hands.
Kent, who was in the corner of the huge building was even using dark binding. He had his hands extended, and breathed in deeply, then a black smoke like substance flowed from the palm of his hands. His eyes were now black. The tall man who was training with him started coughing then choking.
