"What do you mean you don't want to go shopping with me!" Macy had been like this the whole afternoon since I told her I would not go shopping with her in James's town.
"I mean no. I. Do. Not. Want. To. Go. Shopping. I hate shopping with a passion!" I growled.
Macy looked at me curiously.
"Why?"
"Because I don't have the strength to lie to you and tell you that you look great in every single outfit you try one, and I don't have the strength to walk around for hours on end," I sighed. The last thing I wanted to do was shop.
"But you could by something for your coronation," immediately when she said that her hand went straight to her mouth.
"Sorry I didn't mean to bring that up Eve," she said.
I sighed.
"It's okay." I ended our conversation and went to the kitchen where Tom was learning how to cook. Ginger, the cook, was red and angry.
"This is the eleventh egg you've broken Tom!" she yelled. Maybe this wasn't the best place to sit and think so I slowly tiptoed away to the exit. I starting walking toward the valley which Aaron had taken me to a few days before.
As soon and I etched it I plopped myself down on the damp bank of the river and stared at my reflection in the clear water of the river.
The word Aaron told me rung through my head, " "For everything light there is something dark,"
Why was this world like that. We could never have just good or just bad, both were needed for the universe to work properly.
"Hey," I heard a voice behind me.
I smiled when I saw that it was just Aaron.
"Hey."
"What you doing here?" he started to sit down next to me.
"Just thinking," I was getting lost in my thoughts again as I said these words.
"About?"
I sighed," about what you told me yesterday. Everything light has something dark."
He nodded.
"Well it's one of the most absolute laws in the universe," he smirked.
I did too.
"So what are you doing here", I asked as I curiously examined scenarios as to why he would be here right now.
"Um, I..."
"Yes?"
"I...I"
Now this was something new. Aaron being flabbergasted. Wow.
He sighed heavily," I have no clue. I just wanted to see you I guess."
"Really now, so are you missing me..." I asked with a smile on my face and a raised eyebrow.
"Pssssht no..." he said nervously.
"Oh really. Is that sweat forming on your foregead?" I said taking my finger and flicking it across his forehead.
He just laughed. His laugh was so different and so...light in a way.
"You are really funny Eve! Even if you are just some pretty light binder," he said.
"Um actually i'm half Dark half Light so yeah and wait did you just call me pretty?" I asked smiling.
He started looking down at me nervously," Well everyone else says it so why shouldn't I?"
