"So your Aunt Maria...is she nice?" I asked. I had found out that I was going to be staying at James's aunt's house.
"Yeah. The best. It's just unfortunate that she is a vampire. I mean she's so sweet and would never ever even hurt a fly. Guess these things have a way of choosing you," he took the words right out of my mouth!
"Yeah." I replied staring back at all of the cars
"Are all of these weapons really necessary. You guys are after all vampires," I said.
He started laughing, "Clearly you have never battled a Dark binder before. If you thought witches are bad wait till you get attacked by one of those. Their name is even an understatement!" he said.
"Wow. You've battled one?"
"Yup and I barely made it out alive. Almost suffocated on black smoke and he made it out without a scratch. Word of advice. Never ever underestimate a binder," he said sighing.
I wasn't very surprised. It's not much different to what I heard all the time on television, it's just that now I was a bit more open minded when it came to these things. A light binder could do the exact amount of damage.
James cleared his throat and I looked back up at him.
"You know, you may not like this, but somehow you and Aaron are connected. You guys are just like magnets. Never ever apart. I bet you that during the next few hours you and Aaron will be together again."
The funny thing was that I wasn't angry about Aaron anymore. I didn't care about what James said because it was very much... true. I couldn't stop thinking about him and it just got worse every single second we were apart. It was annoying yes but also a reminder for me. That no matter how far away from each other, the bond we felt never weakened.
"Yeah. I know. I guess the world has a nasty game ahead of us," I said thinking about tonight.
Suddenly a terrible feeling came over me. Tonight was not going to be good. There was something life changing going to happen. Something that neither me nor Aaron nor James could stop.
"You know, tonight we are going to start something that will change all of society," I told James.
"Well yeah...I mean tomorrow is your coronation," he said.
I froze. How could I have forgotten.
"Oh yeah. I totally forgot!"
"So that wasn't what you were talking about?" he looked at me confused.
"No. It's not. I feel that something...bad is going to happen tonight," I said.
"Something bad is definitely going to happen. But under no circumstances are you to come and fight him by yourself. I mean it!" he was reprimanding me like I was a small child.
I traced an imaginary halo above my head and smiled.
"I will be as good as an angle!"
"You better be!" he smirked.
We drove the rest of the long way in silence. I would look at the beautiful scenery that spread out for miles and miles and James would stare out at the road and occasionally change the radio station if he did not like the song.
When we did reach his Aunt's house I was surprised at how Quaint and cute it was. The walls were painted a beautiful bright white that was surprisingly clear and clean as if it had just been painted.
We stepped out of the car. The air was cool due to the night that was dawning in on us.
"You want to my jacket?" James asked.
I started shivering.
"Nope i'm good." I said.
"You sure. You are shivering."
"Yes mom. I'm good!" I joked. He fake glared at me.
"Ooooooh don't look so angry. You will get wrinkles!" I said laughing.
He stated laughing once more," That's weird because I just stopped aging after my eighteenth birthday-"
"Fifth of May!" I yelled.
"Yep! Fifth of May. You remember!"
"Of course!" I said.
He beamed and then took my hand in a friendly manner.
"I hope Mr possessive won't mind me holding your hand." James joked.
I looked up at him confused, " Mr Possessive?"
"Aaron that jerk. You know I hate that guy with all my heart, but I know that somewhere deep down, you don't hate him at all. So I will support you," he said.
"Thank you very much James. You never changed one bit!" I said.
He smiled once more and led me toward the front door of the house.
I took in a deep breath because of my nervousness and braced myself to meet the famous Aunt Maria.
