The two men that I hated most in my life were now standing in front of me.
One was my brother, and one was the man who killed my parents.
"What a nice family reunion. The big brother and the little sister. How cute," Michael said.
I glared at Michael.
"Please can you stop talking. It's getting annoying," I said rolling my eyes at him.
He laughed.
I looked over at Jackson who was standing next to King Michael.
"You are not my brother!" I said.
"I'm sorry Evelan. He threatened to kill Selia," he said.
Wrong move.
I fumed now.
"Excuse me? Your girlfriend is now more important than your sister. Your own flesh and blood?" I asked.
"No, it's not like that"
"Yes, it's exactly like this. You are here standing by the man who killed our parents. Have you no shame?"
He looked down ashamed.
"That's exactly what I thought," I said.
It was silent for a moment. The only sounds were the screams of agony and terror from below.
"Well, now that we have that cleared, let me finish off where I was. Oh yes killing you," Michael said. His eyes turning dark and swirling with craziness.
He lunged at me with the dagger, but I ducked down, remembering everything I had been taught by his stupid sister.
He then screamed maliciously and ran after me. I honestly felt like I was in one of those senseless horror movies.
We had a psycho chasing after a girl and a family member who betrayed her. Perfect.
I looked around the room. Jackson was just standing there in utter terror. Frozen in shock.
I then spotted the open door and ran as fast as I could.
I ran down the corridor and up some stairs. I followed them until they led me to a door.
I turned the knob carefully and ran out. The air was cold and wind blew from all directions. Reality struck me. I was on the roof of the palace. Land stretched into darkness. Bodies lay unmoving in front of the palace gates.
The gruesome scene made me nauseous.I walked over to the edge. If I jumped, I would fall to the ground and die. That thought crossed my mind for a split second, then vanished as Aaron's face appeared.
He wouldn't want me to give up so easily. He would want me to fight, and so would my parents.
Michael and Jackson soon appeared at the doorway. Michael looked enraged. He looked like a crazy person. Well actually He was a crazy person anyway.
He stretched his arms out toward me. I was immediately paralysed again.
This time I fought harder than before to break his spell, and within moments, I dropped to the ground panting.
Michael screamed out in frustration and charged at me once again with the dagger in his hand.
As soon as he was an arms length away from me, I grabbed his hand and pushed him to the ground.
He looked up at me and smiled.
"I should have never ever told my sister to train you," he said.
He got up quickly and his fist made contact with my cheekbone. The force of the hard punch sent me skidding to the side of the roof. I clutched my cheek in pain and whimpered.
Michael was now walking slowly toward me, his dark hair being blown by the wind.
I got up quickly and ran toward him and kicked him right in the stomach. He clutched his stomach tightly and bent over while groaning.
Then he looked up at me and grabbed my hair harshly and pushed me once more to the ground. I hit my head hard on the hard surface of the roof.
I was now tired and weak and a shooting pain thudded through my head.
I looked up at the beautiful night sky. The stars shon so beautifully.
"Mom, Aaron, I tried," I said closing my eyes and preparing myself for the moment when Michael would finally kill me.
But that moment never came.
Instead I heard choking noises and a great thud.
I looked down to see Michael on the floor, the dagger that was once in his hand was now lodged in his chest.
Jackson stood over him panting.
"Man, that was hard!" he exclaimed. He looked over toward me and gave me a warm smile.
He grabbed my hand and helped me up. I was so confused.
"You killed him?" I asked.
He nodded.
"I would never ever betray my sister. I would rather Selia die than you. I just needed to kill him," he said pointing toward the lifeless Michael.
I looked at Jackson, smiled and pulled him into a huge hug.
"I'm so glad that you are my brother," I sighed.
He chuckled.
"Now go and get your powers back,".he said.
"How?"
"Just hover your hands over his body. Your power will be attracted to you. You will also absorb the powers of all the other light binders."
I slowly walked up to Michael and kneeled beside him. I extended my hands and hovered them over his body. Immediately black and yellow sand like substances arose from his body and latched onto my skin. They absorbed into my cells.
I stood up and once again and hugged Jackson again.
He wrapped his arms around me and we stood like that for a few seconds.
Then suddenly Jackson became stiff and fell to the ground. A red substance was now pooling around him.
I looked around to see Michael still on the ground. His hand was up and the dagger was gone.
"Now you can only save one. Your powers and the other binders' powers aren't strong enough to heal both in time," he said grinning.
Rage soon exploded through every cell that contained the Darkness in me.
I ran toward him.
I banged my fists on his chest.
When I was done I looked at his bloodied face. He opened his eyes for a moment.
"PRINCESS, there is no way that you can finish your revolution now. As soon as I die, the war begins, and you will have to fight your way out of this mess," he said.
Then his eyes rolled at the back of his head. Immediately ripples emitted from Michaels body. He just triggered the war.
I then turned toward Jackson once more.
