"E-Eve. Don't save me. Save Aaron. He can help you win this war and complete this revolution. I knew this was going to happen so I contacted some Light Binders. They run a rebellion organisation. They will be here soon to take you and Aaron to safety." he said gasping.
I looked at him, tears welling up in my eyes.
"I'm sorry for treating you badly," I said.
He lifted up his arm and slung it around me.
"I f-forgive you," with that he breathed his last breath and became limp.
I took his hand off my shoulder and looked at his open eyes.
I closed them shut with my fingertips and kissed his forehead.
I picked up his body and slung him over my shoulder, he was heavy, but the adrenaline rush prevented me from feeling the full impact of his weight.
I did not want his body to be discarded here, I wanted him to have a proper burial. He deserved it.
I went down the stairs and back into Michael's room. It was messy with blood smeared everywhere And clothing and bedding was on the floor.
Aaron was still lying on the floor lifeless in a pool of blood.
I walked toward him and lowered Jackson next to him.
I kneeled beside Aaron and hovered my hands over his wounds. I took a great amount of effort, but it eventually healed after a long attempt of trying.
"Hey," he said.
"Hi"
He looked over at Jackson.
"He did a good job, he will always be remembered," he said.
It did not surprise me one bit that Aaron knew about his plan.
I looked at Jackson and nodded.
Aaron be grabbed me and wrapped his arms around me.
The tears started flowing wildly and I sobbed into his chest. Inhaling deeply.
I started to feel calmer.
Then I decided to do something strange"Catching light, in the sky
Listen to me lullaby.
Watch it fall to the ground,
Careful don't make a sound.
Glistening and glowing,
Never slowing.
I'm right here don't you cry
I'll teach you how to fly"I was now singing the beautiful song silently in Aaron's chest.
"Where did you hear that song? My mother used to sing it to me when I was younger,"
I then remembered the grey eyed baby. No wonder he reminded me of Aaron, he was Aaron.
"Um in a vision. Your mother sang it to you." I said.
He smiled.
"It always baffled me why you got those visions so easily," he said.
I looked up at him confused.
"Didn't you create those visions? I asked."
"Some of them, but some you created yourself. Memories surfacing. I guess it's a power you have. You can see other people's memories, and you can break my spells on your mind I guess." he said.
"Yeah."
I then stood up and he did too.
"When the Light Binders come to fetch us, then I will bring Jacks body with." I said.
Aaron nodded.
It was then that I heard footsteps. A panting James stood in the door frame.
He looked up at me. Confusion clear on his face.
"Eve? How did you get here? What's going on?" he asked.
I looked at him carefully and decided to just get straight to the point.
"Um... Jack killed Michael, and that has now triggered the beginning of the war," I said.
"What war?" he asked.
"The one between dark and light." I said.
He finally had a look of understanding.
"No wonder there were those creepy ripples." he said.
"Yes," I said looking out of the window. The sky was starting to become light and I could see specks of dark blue and orange appear on the horizon.
It was morning, but more importantly, it was supposed to be the day of my coronation.
"What do we do now?" James asked.
I turned back to him slowly.
"I don't know..."
