JASON P.O.V
Shit!
That was all I could think about. Shit, shit, shit. I couldn't have lost that note. I’d practically been guarding that note with my life. Well, maybe I was over-exaggerating due to the fact that all I did was leave the note in my gym locker, but I was really trying my best to keep people away from that note. I couldn't have anyone read it, or World War III would begin. Okay, exaggerating again, but something really close to that would happen. Who could have gotten into my locker and stolen it? Nobody knew the combination except… Alex. But she couldn't have. I mean she never had the opportunity to- shit. I had told her to get my spare cleats yesterday, at the game.
She was acting all weird, like she was hiding something. She was hiding something behind her back – the note. Alex had the note…. Alex had the note.
“JASON, YOU HAVE THE WHOLE TEAM WAITING OUT THERE FOR YOU. NOW QUITE YOUR LOLLYGAGGING, AND GET ON MY DAMN FIELD!”
Coach’s voice came pounding into my ears from the exit doors, making me jump a little. He was a gruesome coach at times, standing at a height of 6’1, the age of 45, with blonde hair that was hardly on his head. And his muscular physique was something that made everyone fear him.
“Coach, may I be excused from practice for one day?” I begged, eager to get out and find Alex.
“Are you sick?” he asked.
“Well, no, but- “
“Are you dying?”
“Not really, but I really need to leave. Please, Coach.”
“Is it your time of the month?” he asked, trying to hide the smirk on his face.
“Um… I’m not a girl.”
“Well, I didn't realize that, because right now, you’re acting like a pus-“
“Okay, Coach, I get it,” I interrupted, not wanting him to finish that sentence.
“Good, now I don't want to hear another word out of you about wanting to miss my practice. You’ve already kept the team waiting. NOW GET ON MY DAM FIELD OR ELSE!” he yelled, then heading out, slamming the door.
Great… Coach just used his infamous line on me, ‘or else’. He really knew how to terrify people, which could be a good thing at certain moments – just not this moment. Due to out big game on Thursday, we’d most likely have more than three hours of practice, and Coach will make me stay later because of what had just happened. So, I wont get to see Alex until tomorrow, and she had the note. What if she read the note before I could get it back? What if she’d already read it? I sighed, thinking about my situation. The main person who wasn't supposed to read the note, Alex, had it. I wouldn't be able to see her until tomorrow, and I didn't even know if she had read it yet.
Not caring about whether I left my stuff on the floor or not, I slammed the locker door shut, making the others shake, and headed out. Thinking of all this, I could only say one word, that explained the whole situation.
Shit.
ALEX’S POV
After the apology from Beth, we decided to meet up at the new mall that was built just a while ago, after school just like the good old times. I was currently parking my mother’s car in the parking lot. I was using her car to take me to wherever I needed to since she mostly spent her vacation sleeping in. I walked through the entrance, and found her waiting.
