 BRITNEY’S POV

“Whatever. Just make sure I get Jason,” I muttered.

I was now sitting at Aventure food court with this girl from school. If you asked me what her name was, I wouldn't know. I think it was Bridget… Bel… Becky… um, Britney. Oh, wait, that’s my name. Well, I didn’t care. She was just one of those low-class losers at school.

“Don’t worry, you’ll get Jason,” the girl said, snapping me back into reality. “Bye, Britney. It’s been a pleasure working with you.”

“Yeah, whatever, whoever you are,” I strutted out of the food court.

I laughed inside my head. I could finally have what I had been waiting for – Jason. Jason was the only guy that didn't want me, and who wouldn't want me? I mean, I was hot, captain of the Jaguars cheerleading team, although Rosie does all the work. But, whatever though, I was hot. And I was smart – I only set the microwave on fire three times this month, which was a personal record for me. I’m rich, and like I said before, I’m hot.

But Jason still didn't want me. You want to know why? It’s because of that ugly, stupid-smelling, annoying idiotic excuse for a girl, Alex. I didn't even know why I hated her, because I just did. She was just so… plain, ugly, and she played volleyball. Who played volleyball? And most importantly, she thought that she could have Jason when she couldn't. He was mine, and mine only. So of course, when this loser, whose name I still couldn't remember, offered me the chance to get Jason and to ruin Alex’s life, I, of course, said yes. And I will make sure that I would get Jason, even if it were the last thing I would do.

ALEX’S POV

“Guess what I got from the sale?” I heard Jessica shout as she approached me.

“I got these amazingly cute leopard print ballet flats, and I got you the red Nike high tops you wanted,” she stated happily, but her expression changed when she saw the confused look on my face. “What’s up with you?”

“Um, I really wanted a sweet pretzel and they don't have any here,” I lied. I didn't want Jessica knowing about the conversation that I had just heard between Britney and the unknown person. One, because I didn't understand the conversation at all, but mainly, two, what I had overheard gave me a weird feeling.

“Oh, you can get your sweet pretzel some other time. Let’s go!”

This week went by pretty fast. I’d been getting rides from everybody. That is except for Beth. I still didn't know what her problem was, and at this point, I didn't even care anymore. I had left her a countless number of voicemails and messages with no prevail, so there was nothing I could really do about it.
