Valentina's pov

I wake with a warmth feeling near me. I open my eyes slightly and realize Raine was really close. An inch away from my chest. I chuckle softly before wrapping my arms her, pulling her closer. She snuggles into me making me smile. Her flower and vanilla scent fills my nose. She smells really good.

I nuzzle my face into her hair. I softly fall back asleep.

I wake to find Raine pulling away. I growl slightly and pull her back. I could hear her squeak.

"Val..." She whines a little.

"What?"

"I need to get up." I shake my head.

"No."

"Please?"

"No."

She shakes her head. "Isn't this weird to you?"

"Not really, no."

"Okay." A knock was sounded on the door. I pout before pulling away and answering the door.

"Yes?" I ask, trying to cover the aggravation in my voice.

"It's time for breakfast." Tobi says with a raised eyebrow.

"Okay. We'll down in a minute." I could feel him not-so-subtle check me out. I shake my head and shut the door. In his dreams.

"Breakfast is ready. Come on." I say. She shakes her head at me before heading downstairs, with me on her tail.

"I'm going for a run today. Wanna join?" I ask Raine. She shrugs and takes a bite of her apple. We finish eating before heading out back. The whole gang comes but they'll keep their distance. I strip my clothes and shift. I sit patiently as everyone shifts and joins me. I easily pick Raine out from the group. Her scent is the strongest. Her black and silver wolf also stood out. She is the smallest wolf but it's adorable. I go to mind-link her but forget she's not connect to her wolf yet.

'I'll go on ahead, Princess.' Hunter mind-links me. Why does he insist on calling me princess?

'Okay. Take Kiely with you. Ben, you stay in the back with Tobi.'

I mind-link all their instructions, leaving me with Raine who's confused.

I nod towards the woods and run into it and run back. She nods her head and takes off running. She's a speedy little tiny. I race to catch up with her. She slows to a walk, forcing me to make emergency stop. I growl as I slide across the ground. She wolfy giggles and rubs against my neck to make up for it. I shake my head at her. She walks through the trees to show me a meadow. I look around in awe. It's filled with flowers. I see where she gets her scent from. She prances around and goes into playing position. I back away. I never played really. I train.

She tilts her head sideways. I shake my head. She nips at my paws. I growl at her. She plops down in front of me. She lays down with her head on her paws. I trot over and plop down on top of her. I listen to her groan.

"You're heavy." She speaks. I look down and realize she shifted back to human.

"I know." I say, shifting back while still on top of her. She rolls her eyes.

"Here's some clothes." A deeper voice says. I look up at Tobi. He throws us two shirts. I cover Raine up first. I stand up and throw the shirt on.

I stand Raine up. Tobi disappears. She smirks at me before running away.

"Raine!" I yell whiling running after her. I grab her by the waist.

"Don't move." I growl at her. She giggles.

"Make me." She whispers. I roll my eyes at her childish behavior.

"Come on. We're going home." I say with a huff and throw her over my shoulder. I make sure her butt is cover by the shirt. I start the hike back to the house.

"Put me down." I listen to her whine.

"No."

"Yes."

"Okay." I drop her but catch her before she hits the ground. Her eyes are clutch together.

"I'll never let you fall, Raine." I say with the roll of my eyes. Her face heats up.

"Come on you two." Ben yells. I chuckle softly.

"I'll give you a piggy back ride the rest of the way." She hops on my back then I race through the forest. We break through the trees and I set her down softly.

"You bunch, it's dinner. Come on in." Karla yells. We all head in. Raine and I throw on pants.

I get lost in my thoughts as we eat.

Raine and I are pretty close. She's becoming a great friend of mine.

I don't want to leave her behind when I leave. I'll miss her. Maybe I could convince her to leave with me. But I think she's pretty content here.

I frown at my food.

"Val, what's wrong?" Kiely says. I snap out of my thoughts.

"Oh. Nothing. I was just... Thinking." I glance at Raine. She raises an eyebrow at me. I shake my head. I sigh.

"I'm going to bed. Goodnight everyone." I disappear upstairs to be left alone in my thoughts.
