Not What You Expect

Chapter Five

Finally after walking so far, I walk into my favorite cafe shop and am greeted by a common sweet smile I've grown use to seeing every-time I have came into here.

"Hey Raine! Hows Tobi?" she wriggles her brows in a motion id like to smack off her face every-time I come in here "he is fine, Samantha how are you?" she walks me to a table near the big windows to give me a clear view of the outside. "I am fine." she starts rubbing her round tummy and I shake my head just noticing how round she looks since the last time I was here "you and Thor?! nasty." she laughs at my joking tone "we get to see if its a girl or boy next week." I furrow my brow "so quick already?" she nods excitedly "I hope its a girl, I want to name her piper." I smile happily at her choice "I hope your wish comes true Sam." she grins and hands me a menu "what would you like to drink?" I look at the menu and bite the inside of my cheek thinking "how about a hot mocha?"

she leaves me to go fetch me my drink and i look outside the window watching people pas by doing there everyday routine. I watch as a mother and her little girl walk to a dress shop and the little girl jumps up and down excitedly pointing inside at a little blue dress that has floral design laced at the bottom, I frown as I watch them go in remembering me and my mom.

*flash back* (11 years)

Excitedly shrieking "mommy mommy, store!" I look down at the top of her head and play with her black hair that resembles my own, which is up in a cute pony tail with a tiny polka dotted blue bow. she laughs under me and turns to face the store I wanted to go in.

pointing at the window and waiving my little arm "mommy that one that one!" she places me on the ground and looks at me with adoration "which one Raine?" I look into the window again and am memorized by the little silvery white dress that is in-front of me. "The one like a fairy dress mommy it so pretty!" looking back at her I can see a flash of worry cross her hazel eyes, I see her bite her lip nervously " I don't know baby it looks expensive." I stick out my bottom lip and it trembles, looking back at the dress "but, but mommy....." she grabs me up and kisses my cheek "okay baby girl ill get you that one, don't you cry mommy will get you that one, lets go in baby." letting out a happy giggle mommy tickles my sides.

*Flash back ends*

Sam comes back and places the mug in front of me "Raine? you okay" I look at her and wipe my face quickly when I realized I had been crying. "i'm fine Sam don't worry, thanks for the mocha." she looks me over unsure not wanting to let it go, but then nods and walks away "no problem Raine."

I sip at the hot mocha in my mug, and look back outside at the mother and her child as they exit the store. The little girl now wearing the cute blue dress that she must have nagged her mom for looks adorable and very excited.

After they leave my aim of sight I look down at my mocha and sigh, I am not much of a caffeine person. I actually on the other hand from those hyper caffeine crazed people get extremely tired after drinking coffee. I prefer chocolate and caramel things, but love vanilla.

After about thirty minutes of sipping the mocha I take the last sip of my mocha and sadly I look into the mug and frown, guess its time to leave. I stand up and slip my jacket back on, looking out the windows I watch people scurry off to their cars and into buildings leaving the street empty except for Tobi his head is down and looks as he's headed somewhere. He's looking up every few minutes and you can see his face is flushed from the wind that slaps him in the face every time he lifts his head up. I giggle at how his dirty blond hair dances in the ferocious wind. noticing how he keeps looking around here I feel like he's looking for someone.

'probably to come get me.' I quickly yell to Sam good bye and leave the cafe pulling my jacket tighter around me as I walk out side into the wind that quickly engulfs me I call out to him "Tobi, what you doing?" he looks up and I can read excitement in his eyes, quickly he walks to my side.

"looking for you Raine, the princess is staying at our place, and..." I look at him and roll my eyes at how he stops speaking abruptly.

"and what Tobi?" I tease him elbowing him gently.

he smiles "andshesstayinginyourroomwhileyourbunkingwithme."

I growl at him playfully "what was that Tobi?" he coughed "shes staying in your ro--"

I wave him off and start walking home, not liking how the wind is getting harder, rushing him "okay that's nice, whats her name?"

He stands there stunned for a moment then quickly rushes to my side "her names Valentina Grace Johnson, and why do you not care?" his voice full of amusement and curiosity.

I shrug "usually your hell bent on anyone except me in your room." I nod "But she's a princess, she needs a nice bed to sleep in and if mines good enough for her then... well she can stay there.. I am sleeping in your room right." he nods and I grin "so its not to bad, I got somewhere to sleep I would be 'hell bent' if I was told to sleep outside over sleeping inside."

He nods in understanding, looking around I feel the wind grow stronger and I shake. Tobi notices and pulls my into his arms as we walk towards home. His warmth makes me feel at least comfortable enough.

Almost home he speaks quietly to me "shes a very understanding person Raine so don't worry about her rushing you with introductions and things, she has three others with her, Ben, Kiely, and hunter. Hunter and Kiely are mates and Hunter and Ben are her guards, shes an outstanding and has a very out going personality, once you see her you'll understand what I mean." nodding I can hear how important he thinks of her and it makes me want to meet her, but I don't know if she'll like me.

I'm shy and I don't like physical contact with anyone other than Tobi's family. To say i'm scared is wrong, but nervous is about spot on.

Standing at the front door now I let out a shaky breath with Tobi behind me I grab the door nob and twist it slowly.

"you gonna open the door or are you trying to rehearse for a anxious meeting with someone in the future?" Tobi starts chuckling at his own comment, I glare at him 'he's not wrong, but I wasn't rehearsing, this is actually happening, I don't know what to expect from her should i even care?.'

I slap Tobi "No I wasn't!" turning back around and open the door quickly walking inside with Tobi on my heels.
