Valentina's pov
I kiss Raine's forehead. She growls playfully.
"Stop it."
"No." She nuzzles into my neck. We've been watching movies for a couple hours now.
"Alright, you two, break it up, break it up." Kiely says, walking in. I roll my eyes at my friend.
"You're such a weirdo." I say.
"I'm normal."
"Lies!" Raine giggles softly, sending vibrations against my neck. I shiver.
"I'm completely normal, thank you very much." She heads over to the Blu-Ray player and opens the desk thing. She puts another movie in.
"This one should spice things up." I watch the commercials before the title pops up.
"Magic MiKe XL." I groan. "We're not 14 anymore. This movie is just... weird now."
"Oh, come on. There's no guys in the house. It's the perfect timing." I shake my head at her.
"Kiely..."
"Please?"
"If I could get up, I would hurt you."
"Could've, would've, should've." I shake my head and wrap my arms around Raine, pulling her closer, if that was possible.
"You two are very funny." She whispers.
"She's my best friend. Her and Ben both are. I went into a dark time when I was younger. Her, Ben, and... Well, her and Ben. They helped me through it."
"You were going to say someone else."
"No, I wasn't."
"Yes, you were." She straddles me. "Someone else was in your life." She squints at me.
"They gave you the ring, making it a female."
"Raine.. Stop..."
"Val.. What's wrong?"
I shake my head, looking away. Kiely comes over.
"Raine, we've got to talk."
"No. What aren't you telling me?" Raine whispers softly.
"My past is my past. I don't feel like sharing it." Raine squints at me.
"Okay..." She says. The movie starts. Raine maneuvers her way back into a comfortable position. I sigh and breathe in her calming scent.
During the movie, I cringed many times. I covered Raine's eyes a couple of times too. She would laugh at me but got over it. This show is just disturbing now.
"You'll think this movie was scary the way you're jumping."
"It should be classified as scary." A new movie was put in and I raise an eyebrow at my friend.
"Well. You'll enjoy this one." The movie pops up.
"Burlesque..." I whisper.
"What's so bad about this one?"
"My friend thinks I'm lesbian." I glare at my friend.
"The facts don't lie." I glare at Kiely.
Don't bring up my past. Don't bring up my past.
"What does that mean?" Raine asks.
"Nothing." I say really fast. She gives me a look before shaking her head. "Let's go to bed, yeah?" I say, pushing her up. She stands on her feet before we both head upstairs. We change really fast before crawling into bed.
"You know, I won't push you. But when you're ready. You can tell me your past. I won't judge you." Raine whispers softly.
"I know. It's just rough."
"It's okay." I breathe softly.
"I'm just ready for bed. My mind is buzzing."
"Okay."
We both fall asleep.
•~*Dream*~•
"S-stay away from me." I whimper. I shouldn't have ran away. Stupid.
"Hello, Princess." He growls.
"I said stay away." I shiver.
"Valentina!" I hear a familiar voice. I turn around and my father and a couple other wolves come running over. He scoops me up into his arms.
"Daddy." I cry out.
"Such a weak leader."
"Leave her alone."
"Your son dies. You're stuck with a pathetic girl." Dad tells the wolves to kill him. He dies before my eyes.
Dad carries me back to the castle. He sets me.
"Valentina, it's dangerous for a girl out there. What the hell were you thinking?" He growls at me.
"I just miss mommy."
"Your mother is gone. She's not coming back. You need to grow up and stop being a weak little girl."
"But.. But... I'm only 8!"
"That's no excuse. You're weak. That's why girls need a mate. Because they let their feelings get in the way." He shakes his head. "Go to your room. Guards make sure she stays in there."
I stomp to my room and slam my door shut. I stalk over to my mirror and look at myself.
A girl. So stupid.
I grab my scissors and take my golden hair.
It looks like Mom's.
I cut a piece but it turns white, scaring me. I breathe in before cutting more. I cut it boy short.
I rip off my dress and cut it up.
Stupid girly things.
I take out a tank-top and jeans.
If I was a boy, dad would love me more.
I'll do training tomorrow.
I won't be a pathetic girl no longer.
*~•End Of Dream•~*
I rub my face at the dream. I snuck out the next morning and went to training. They trained me and I became the best. Dad found out though. He didn't like my hair or my look.
Said that's not what a princess should look like.
I slowly get out of bed and make my way downstairs. I lay on the couch. It's around one o'clock in the morning.
I grab a blanket on the couch before curling back up and falling asleep.
