Caden's POV

I had set plans for my Beta to get back onto our pack lands, and made my way down the stairs - let me just say, it was easy to tell than another drama had took place in my short absence to the office.

There stood Ryan, weeping his heart out whilst looking at a pup sandwiched between the bane of my existence and a man whom I could only presume right now to be one of the bane of my existences many companions.

What the hell happened while I was gone?

"Come on, Trystan," I heard her say to the man standing directly behind her, then she turned to face the pup clamped to her hand. "Sin, come. I'm sure your hungry, let's get you fed first. I'll show you to your rooms."

That Trystan fellow seems a little off to me, to be honest. His scent is somehow different from the rest of the rogues.

I don't trust him one bit. And I don't blame you, Bane.

I waited for her to leave so I could confront Ryan on what had been happening in my absence - but my advances were stopped by a hand resting on my shoulder.

Lizben! Thank the Goddess! I thought. Maybe now I can get some answers.

Before I got the chance to ask her "What happened?", she had already pulled me back towards my office to give me all the details.

........

I was shocked to say the least.

She's, what..? 18? And she has a 5/6 year old pup stuck to her hip, calling her mama? What the hell is wrong with her?

Why do that to yourself, anyways?

Guess she didn't really think it out, proving her foolishness, as well as incapability as an Alpha.

She could have just given the pup to another, why take up the responsibility when you should have more important things to attend to - like maybe returning to your pack?

"She's an Alpha. She should prioritise her pack and her herself before any other - an unrelated pup will just make things complicated for her, as well as become a weakness." I knew both me and Lizben were on the same page on this - we always were. "Her weakness."

Her eyes glinted with mischievousness - probably planning another one of her elaborate shenanigans to drop on some poor, unsuspecting members of the Blood Moon pack.

I couldn't help but crack a small smile at her immature antics - she's always been one to cause trouble.

Sometimes, I forget she is older than me.

Lizben's POV

I finished filing my blood red nails as I rested comfortably on one of Caden's many armchairs.

Just you wait, you spoilt little princess.

I'll pay you back ten fold for the lack of respect you have shown towards me. I'm not one to mess with, and you'll soon understand why first-hand.

I didn't expect you to ever return - but I kept everything ready for your welcoming anyway. Didn't want you missing out on anything now, did we?
