Chapter 2 - Daddy's Little Princess

At the same time, in the Moonlight Pack ...

Faith's POV (7)

I can feel daddy's presence, he's almost home.

"There's daddy's little princess!" my daddy (Alpha Josiah) cooed as he ran through the front door and picked me up, bringing me into a loving, bone crushing hug. He smiled ear to ear as I giggled in delight.

I love my daddy.

"Let go of her NOW Jo! You're suffocating my little baby" called my momma (Luna Ernest) from the adjoining kitchen. I love my momma too, but my daddy is the best. He's my hero.

"Don't worry, love! I've made sure to get her used to my huggles – haven't I princess?" he looked at me with big, big eyes, asking me to agree with him in his secret way "Yes, momma! Daddy won't hurt me, don't worry. Daddy's my huggy bear! His huggles are the best!" I replied, satisfied with my answer.

At that, momma burst into a fit of laughter as daddy looked at me in shock.

"Princess, please promise me you will never repeat that in front of our pack" he said as he held both my hands, with a serious look on his face - which only made momma laugh harder.

"But why daddy?" I asked innocently.

"Because I don't want the other pack members asking me for huggles. My huggles are only for my little princess. It has to stay a secret between you, me, Jared and momma" he said as he pretended to zip his mouth shut with me.

Jared is my big brother, older than me by 5 minutes. He may be my twin, but people are always telling me we don't look the same – the way twins should look. Momma says Jared looks like daddy and I look like momma. I want to look like daddy too. I bet he's handsome. Momma's pretty too.

But I want to be just like daddy,

"Speaking of Jared, where is he? Didn't he come home with you, Jo?"

"I left him at Beta Garry's house. He recently became attached to Garry's son, so I let him stay overnight."

Awww. Who will sleep with me then? I feel lonely when Jared isn't with me. Jared is my second favourite person.

No actually he's my first – tied with daddy and momma.

My pack members come second.

"Come on, baby. Let's get you to combat training, can't have you being late on your first day, can we?! You're my daughter after all. Make sure to make friends with youf classmates ok? And don't forget to each your lunch. Oh and make sure to -"

"Give her a break, Jo. She's only a child" momma huffed, gently whacking daddy's head with the oven mittens.

"Hehe! Don't worry daddy! I know what to do. I will be a good girl and go early and make friends and eat my food and play well and stay safe and everything else after that" I said, holding daddy's face by the cheeks as I smiled at him.

I felt water trickling onto my hands.

"Daddy are you crying? What's wrong?" I asked worriedly. Did I hurt daddy's heart?

"Don't worry, princess. I'm not crying, it's just the rain"

"... But daddy we are inside. And it doesn't smell like rain" I stated, sniffing the liquid on my hand.

Daddy chuckled "I don't know why I worry... Although you can't see, you can clearly see better than me. Thank the Moon Goddess your other senses are especially sharp. I wouldn't know what to do if they weren't. I love you, princess" he said as he wiped his face of what I think were tears and gently caressed my face.

I kissed daddy's cheeks and told him "I love you too, daddy! And don't worry! Your little princess can see more clearly than anyone. I just don't use my eyes"

It's true.

I can see with my sense of touch – seeing using vibrations from the ground. My sense of smell and hearing help to make what I "feel" around me be seen clearer in my mind. I think my sight is better than daddy's. I can see further than daddy too, from the closest ants to the far away trees.

I don't know why nobody understands.

But Jared understands, even though he sees with his eyes. Because Jared's my big brother. My twin. Daddy said Jared's going to do his job as Alpha when he grows up, even though I have also inherited the Alpha gene and mine is stronger – Daddy said it's our little secret. To keep me safe, my brother will be my stand-in until I come of age. I will stay as his shadow until I am trained.

He will be my shield.

He will protect me until I'm strong, staying as Alpha until I am 21. Then I will take my rightful place – the true Alpha. I'm going to be just like daddy.

Because I'm daddy's little warrior.

I'm daddy's little princess.
