Chapter 9- The Invite

"Scrambled, right?"

I was still in utter shock from that kiss. I could feel my cheeks blushing and I tried everything so Liam wouldn't notice. I know we've kissed before, but this time it was different. We were older and had more experience. The feelings were stronger too... well, at least mine were. Kissing him brought back a lot of memories. Good ones, but also the bad ones. What am I getting myself into?

"Yeah," I smiled. 

"So what are you doing tomorrow?" he asked as he flipped my eggs. 

"Well, I have class till 3, but after that... nothing, why?"

"We have a gig tomorrow night and I was wondering if you wanted to go...? Andy will be there and Anna could come. I'd be nice to have some more friends in the audience."

"I'll talk to Anna. Sounds like fun."

Liam grabbed my phone off the counter and put his number inside. He was taking longer than usual so I quickly grabbed my phone from his hands. 

"What are you looking at?" I questioned. When I looked at the screen, a picture of Spencer and I was all I could see. 

I hated to be reminded of him. I was still a little hurt from the whole thing. "Oh...." 

"Is that him? Why do you still have this picture?" he asked. 

"I guess I just never got around to deleting it."

"That's what they all say..."

"I was with him for a long time. We had some bad times but most times were good. Can we not talk about this please?"

"I just don't understand why you would stay in touch with him after he hurt you like that?

"Why? You and I are friends now? How's it any different?"

"Cause he cheated on you and treated you like shit."

"I mean... you didn't treat me any better..."

Liam became silent. He knew what I said was true and by the look on his face, he felt bad. 

"Let's make a promise right now. I'll never bring up what happened to us a couple years ago if you promise to not bring up Spencer...deal?"

"Deal," he replied. 

While Liam and I were finishing our breakfast, Andy and Anna finally made their way downstairs. 

"Its about damn time you two woke up..." 

Anna rolled her eyes.

 "Bro, I actually have to get going soon," Andy said, looking at Liam. "Thanks for letting us crash here last night guys."

"You're welcome," Anna and I replied in unison. 

Andy and Liam gathered their belongings, said their goodbyes, and made their way out the door. I didn't want Liam to leave. I could talk to him for hours. Just like when we were younger. 

Liam turned around before closing the door to the flat. "See you tomorrow night?"

"Yeah, we'll be there," I smiled.

After Liam left, Anna looked at me confused. "Where are we going?"

"Liam invited us to his concert tomorrow. Andy will be there too. Sounds fun. Wanna go?"

"Um, of course I want to go. I haven't been to a concert in forever."

"Yeah, neither have I," I replied. "Is it bad that I've only heard a couple of their songs...?"
