Part 2 of the Halsey mini series, based on the song "Hurricane"

Her body moved to the music blasting through the speakers as he awkwardly stood next to her, watching out for his next target. There were several girls that caught his eye, vulnerable and horny. Soon, he felt lips against the soft skin of his neck, nipping and biting. He turns around to find her, sweaty, hair a mess, lipstick smudged, and looking at him with a fire in her eyes.

Then they were stumbling down the street, his arm around her waist as they tried to walk in a straight line. They finally reached his apartment, walking in and making a beeline towards his bedroom. Their lips found each others as they tried to reach the bed, articles of clothing being pulled off in the meantime.

That night they gave each other everything, every part of themselves — physically and emotionally. Their hands roamed each others bodies, scratching down the surface of the delicate skin, as the bed hit the wall repeatedly. The covers were tangled around their legs as he held himself above her writhing body, her hands linked around his neck — pulling at the ends of his hair.

The next morning, with his arms wrapped around her waist and her hands resting on his sweaty chest, they lay together on her bed, the silence surrounding them as their heartbeats were heard by the other. She looked up at him, the boy she'd known forever, his skin bathed in a golden glow from the sunlight streaming in through the gaps in her curtains. His curls were still stuck to his skin, his damp forehead acting as glue. He was looking at her too, thinking of all the memories they shared. There was one main difference in their thoughts though, he was thinking about how lucky he was that he'd finally caught her and she was his now; but her thoughts were about how their midnight adventure had damaged the precious bond that they previously shared and how things were never going to be the same.

"Ashton," she whispered, her soft voice causing his eyes to drift up to meet her own.

"Yes, my love?" he responds, blissfully unaware of the bomb she was about to drop and how it would change everything between them and how it would alter his thoughts about last night.

"This was a mistake," she tells him, her gaze dropping from his as he slowly withdraws his hands from around her waist. She slowly gets up from the bed and starts grabbing her clothes off of the floor and placing them back onto her body. He's frozen on the bed, not believing that something that meant so much to him would be dismissed so easily by her.

But then she makes the mistake of looking at him, one look at the hurt in his eyes and she's back on the bed, her arms wound tight around his torso and her head buried into his chest.

"Sorry Ash, but I can't be with you," she mumbles against his chest, making him pull back so that he can look at her.

"Why not? What possible reason could you have?" He asks her, exasperation laced through his irritated tone. She sighs and places her hand on his cheek, running her thumb back and forth gently.

"It's just not what I do Ash. Tomorrow night their will be another pair of lips and another goodbye. It's just how I work. I don't belong to anyone, I'm free," She tells him, grabbing everything she brought and beginning to walk out of the door.

"What could've possibly fucked you up that bad huh? Who made you this way?" He calls out after her, his voice stopping her dead in her tracks.

"Trust me, you don't want to know," she calls back over he shoulder before leaving his apartment.

And so life went on for the both of them, him working everyday to try and take his mind off of her. She even moved out of the city to try and be as far away from his memories as possible. Neither option worked however, because at the end of each night, both of their minds clouded with alcohol, their thoughts always drifted back to the other and what they were doing. Both imagined a different pair of lips attached to them, but that was never the case. They were both too heartbroken to move on to something further then a hookup with another person.

But then there was that one night, when it seemed as though fate, or whatever you believe in, was on their side. All it took was a drink to be ordered and then all of a sudden they were looking at each other again, the fire in her eyes still burning into his. He awkwardly gave her the drink that she'd ordered and coughed, averting his eyes from hers so that her eyes weren't boring into his soul anymore.

"I thought you moved away," He had said to her, the pain in his eyes still prominent although trying to be masked by a smile. She smiled sadly,

"I thought I had too, but it looks like I just can't keep away from you,"
