Chapter 13

 A/N – Sorry for the late updating, I didn’t even end up bringing my laptop with me to my cousins because I knew her internet wouldn’t work (which it didn’t). “Hurry up!” Katy called from downstairs. “Coming!” I yelled back. Katy, Lindsey, Danny, Austin, Ellie and I were going to the beach just to relax and for everyone to get to know Ellie & Austin.  We all had the day off today so we figured it would be the perfect time to go. I threw on my Victoria secret bikini and pulled an ikat maxi dress over top. I had light makeup on and my hair was in a high ponytail. I threw my sunscreen, sunglasses and phone into my beach bag then headed down the stairs. “Finally.” Austin mumbled. I gave him a glare that could probably kill. He was the first one here, with Ellie that’s why he was being so impatient. Ellie laughed and hugged onto Austin’s arm. I couldn’t help but notice how clingy she actually was with him. I walked over to Danny who wrapped his arms around my waist and pull me into a kiss. A blind man could see the tension between Danny and Austin but I just ignored it. Danny promised me that he wouldn’t do anything to make Austin uncomfortable. “Were taking Austin’s van.” Danny chirped. “Austin doesn’t have a van.” I looked at Austin with a questioning look. “It’s mine.” Ellie chimed in. I nodded with a smile. “Ok let’s move people.” Lindsey said heading for the door. Danny and Austin both reached to grab my bag to help. “I’ve got it.”  Danny said, firmly grabbing the handle. “It’s fine, I’ll throw it in the back.” Austin said, having a tight grip on the other handle. “I’ve got it.” I said, ripping the bag out of both their hands and giving them both a warning look. Today was going to be a long day.

“How much longer?” Ellie questioned Austin, who was driving. I didn’t understand why we didn’t just go to the beach by my house, we could have walked for crying out loud, but instead we were going to some beach 2 hours out of town I was shoulder to shoulder with Danny. Not that I minded but It wasn’t exactly roomy. “About an hour.” Austin said, keeping his eyes on the road.  Katy groaned. “Why couldn’t we have just gone to the beach by my house?” I questioned. “Yeah.” Lindsey agreed. “You’ll see when we get there.” Austin said. I rolled my eyes and put my head on Danny’s shoulder, nuzzling my neck into his. If today was going to be as tense and awkward as things were back at the house, I at least needed an hour or so of sleep.

“Were here!” Austin cried and we pulled into an empty parking spot. Not that there were any full parking spots, we looked to be the only ones here. That made me relax a little bit. At least if Danny and Austin went for each other’s throats there would be no witnesses besides Katy, Lindsey, Ellie and I. “Finally.” Lindsey groaned opening the sliding door. I looked over to see Danny asleep, I shook him slightly. “Danny, were here.” I whispered. His eyes fluttered open and he smiled. “You’re cute when you sleep.” I said and he laughed. “I wish I could say the same to you, you snore and drool!” He laughed. I punched him playfully in the arm. “Are you guys coming or?” Katy said opening the van door and poking her head in. “Yeah were coming.” I said making my way to the open door. “Come on sleeping beauty.” I joked looking back at Danny. He shook his head and followed me out of the van.

“Wow” Is all I could say as we step foot onto the beach. The sand was pure white and the water so crystal clear and blue you could see the fishes swimming around in the water. “I can now see why you brought us here.” I said, turning towards Austin. All he did was smirk, then starting unpacking. I looked over to Danny who was half down unpacking already too. I walked up to him and pulled him into a quick, sweet kiss. “Maybe this day won’t be so bad after all.” He said, smirking.

I had to admit, the beach was actually okay. We played some games in the water which included Marco polo, us girls had a hand stand competition and Danny and Austin threw a football around. I was surprised at how well they were getting along. I expected one of them to start a fight with the other but that was far from the case. Katy, Lindsey, Ellie and I were now laying across out towels soaking up the sun and Austin and Danny were sitting in some beach chairs we brought under an umbrella talking about sports.

“Ellie come in the water with me.” Austin said leaning down next to her freshly tanned body. She stood up and walked over the water with Austin, the two of them hand in hand. I had to admit they were really cute together. I hadn’t decided whether I liked Ellie yet though. She was pretty and she seemed nice enough but she never seemed to let go of Austin, she was always clinging on to him in some way. She also whined a lot which I hated. “Let’s go get some frozen yogurt.” Katy nudged Lindsey and I. “I saw a place just a little far back down the road.” Katy added. “I’ll pass.” I said. “But if you want you could bring me back something?” I asked with a smile. “Sure, princess.” Lindsey joked. I stuck my tongue out at her and she laughed. “We’ll be back in a bit.” They called, as they started walking down the beach. I looked over at Danny who stood up and was now shaking off sand. “Want to go for a walk babe?” He asked. I smiled and stood up. “Sure.” I smiled.

The air smelled so fresh and clean, it even smelled a bit like rain forest. Where I’m from, everything smells like burnt forest fire. “This is beautiful!” I cried. We were on top of a huge rock that over looked the entire beach. It reminded me like the rock from the lion king. “You’re beautiful.” Danny whispered as we wrapped his arms around my waist. I turned around and gave him a quick peck. “That’s all I get?” He joked. I smiled and pulling him in for another kiss, this one lasting longer. “That’s better.” He said when we pulled apart. “It’s really quiet here.” I whispered. “And were all alone.” I added. He pulled me in again and this time his hands went all the way down my back and he squeezed my butt. My arms were wrapped around his neck and I wanted him more and more every second. “I want you.” He whispered as we pulled apart for air. “Too bad.” I teased. Letting go of his neck and sliding down the edge of the rock to reach the beach. As much as I wanted to go all the way with Danny it was not going to happen here, and not with everyone else around. I also wanted to tease Danny a little, I was about to show him you can’t always get what you want.
