Betrayal

Zane's POV

Here we are again. Cold stone beneath my feet. The stench of hot metal filling to dim cavern. I struggled a bit under the firm grasp of Hookclaw the Infectai. 

"May I remind you, nindroid," He hissed. "that you only have two and a half hours left. If you run out of time, you may join us on a new level. Become a general, maybe. It would be marvelous. For us."

He snickered. I glared at him and replied, "I will never side with you. There will be other heroes to stop you-" 

He cuts me off with a slice at my arm. "Only you could. Now shush. Follow me."

Do I really have to join them? I cannot just leave my friends! But fighting would be pointless... There are too many to defeat. 

Hookclaw tightens his grip on me. "In here," He whispers.

"WHY ARE WE WHISPERING?!" I yell, trying to irritate him as much as possible.

"Quiet!" He whisper-screams with another slice at my other arm. This one makes contact and hurts.

He leads meinside a tunnel which widens out into a large cavern with several hundred Raptors of all clans. In front of us stand Slash, Whiplash, and Radar. Whiplash laughes cruely and kicks me in the leg. I fall to the ground on purpose, trying to make it seem as if I am weak, so they will believe that I am easy to defeat. 

"Enough with the games, ninja. Let's g-g-get down to business..." He bares his fangs and steps forward. Radar has a hurt expression on his face, but no one seems to notice but me. Whiplash whips his tail at my shoulder and I sit up. "What are your teammates' weaknesses? We must attack individually if we are to rid ourselves of them." 

"I shall never tell you!" I say sharply.

Slash hisses and pushes me down. "You better t-t-tell us..." He taunts in a singsong voice. "We have not forgotten the Venomai... You still are infected, you know. Only a few hours left!"

"But," Whiplash cuts in, shoving Slash off to the side. "We have a cure."

"What?!" I exclaim.

"Yes. If you follow o-o-orders well, when we rule ninjago, we shall give it to you." he sneers. "For now, we shall give you a minimum dose to keep you alive for another two hours. T-t-that should last the battle." 

Suddenly, a small white flash catches my eye. I glance to the left and see Silver, Lucy, and Jay hiding in the shadows with frightened looks on their faces. There is  a small cave near them, and they dart into it, without anyone noticing. 

"Well?" Whiplash asks, not loosening his grip.

Lucy peeks her head out and signs, "friend, rescue." I smile and pretend I didn't see her. She ducks back into the cave.

"It depends," I say to Whiplash, jsut buying time. "How long will the maximum dose last?" 

"F-f-fool. It cures it forever." He replies, his patience running low.

"Attack!" Silver yells from across the room. Just then, the wall of the cave bursts open and several hundred small, white dragons pour into the room, appearing like miniature versions of Grace. 

Immediately, the battle in in full tilt. Claws swiping at unsuspecting scales make it just too easy for the dragons. 

Silver, Jay, and Lucy rush over to the four Raptors near me. Lucy goes for Hookclaw, taking him down instantly with a slash of her dagger at his underbelly. Silver rushes at Whiplash, who lets go of me and begins fighting her. Jay leaps toward Slash  and electrocutes him; taking him down. I go for Radar, but he teleports away. Silver helps me up, and we run into the cave. 

"The Illusionai will take it from here," she says.

"Cool." I say absentmindedly. 

Suddenly, a Venomai leaps out of the shadows and grabs me. "You have broken the r-r-rules," He cackles. "Now you shall pay the price!" He traps me under a falles stalactite, using anther one to block Jay, Lucy, and Silver's path. He rears, and leaps. I brace myself, but no bit comes. Something was blocking the Venomai's path. I freed myself and saw who had taken the bite for me. It was Radar.
