Zane's POV
I have good news and bad news.
The good news is, Lucy has been able to mess with the venom and give me more time. I now have five or six hours left. Do not ask me how. There is too much involved. My database almost overloaded.
The bad news is that the others have not returned. We have tried to make contact via cell phone, but all we hear at the other end is the extremely annoying woman saying-
"We're sorry. Your call could not be completed. You may leave a message at the beep. To leave a callback number, press 5. beep!"
There she goes again.
"Lucy,the others are not going to pick up." I tell her.
She shoots me a sarcastic look. "How do you know?" She asks stubbornly.
"I am not going to get involved in this argument." I decide and walk away.
I meet Sensei in the bridge.
"Afternoon, Zane." He greets me blankly.
"To you as well." I reply and begin to work with the computers to send a radar scan to find my friends. Nothing comes up.
"I'll send a pod," Lucy offers. I jump.
"That sounds like a good idea." Sensei agrees.
Lucy pulls out a camera and envelopes it in water. She opens the window and sends it flying into the afternoon sky. Soon, it sails out of view.
I nod in approval and walk silently into the room that I share with Kai, Cole, Jay, and Lloyd. It pained me to see their bunks empty. I sat on by bunk, which was on the bottom. It sank down and gave a comporting squeak as it did so. Some things never change.
"Zane? You might wanna see this," Lucy calls. I sense distress in her voice.
I rush into the other room, where Lucy and Sensei are crowding around the screen attatched to the wall that normally has a radar going, but now shows Kai, Cole, Jay, and Lloyd backed up againsed a tree, with three Telepai closing in. I recognise all three. It was Slash, Whiplash, and Radar!
"W-w-we don't want to hurt you," Radar says.
Kai draws his sword, then it ignites in a firey inferno. "Liar!" He shouts.
Whiplash takes a step closer. "If you do not believe us, ask your nindroid friend, Zane." He juts his tail toward the camera. "He is watching right now."
Then Lucy spoke. "There is a microphone attched to the camera. I will turn it on with a remote, then you may speak."
I nod. Lucy hits a button on a black box and a red light flashes.
"Guys, it's Zane." I say.
Jay whips around to face the screen. "Zane?" He asks.
"They are telling the truth! They can help us." I explain.
Kai lowers his sword and Slash smirks.
"W-w-we can teleport you to your ship," Radar offers.
"Sounds good." Cole agrees before Kai could argue.
Each one of them places a finger on a Telepai.
"Beam us up, Scotty!" Jay jokes.
They disappear and the picture fades.
