Zane's POV

"Guys, wake up!" I urged. Kai groaned in response.

"Go away, it's too early." Jay mumbled.

Just then, the alarm clock blared.

"Dang it..." Lloyd said groggily. He shot an energy blast at it, causing it to explode, leaving a black indentation on the bookcase.

Jay stuck his feet out of the bed, expecting to fell ground beneath them, but only feat air because he was on the top bunk. "Whoa!" He yelled, tumbling to the ground. He landed in an awkward position and let out a small, strained "Um, a little help?" I reached my hand out and pulled him to his feet.

"Why did you get us up so early?" Cole asked.

"Because," I replied. "There is a-" I thought for a moment. "Complication with the quest."

"Like what?" Kai asked.

"There is a new enemy that has been discovered. They are called the Raptors. I shall explain" I relayed the story that Sensei told me, Being cautious not to miss anything important. They watched me with quizzical expressions, taking iin every word I said like it was a crime scene investegation, and they were trying to get the facts right. I try to imagine them in Cop suits. I cannot. When I finish, they look bewildered.

"So it was my fault that the Raptors are lose?" Lloyd asks pained.

"No, Lloyd. It wasn't your fault. You couldn't have known." I said, trying to soothe him. He was claerly upset. "You guys get dressed. I'll make breakfast. See you in a bit."

Eggs sizzled in the frying pan. It smelled delicious. I plopped a peice of lightly toasted bread into the pan and watched it cook with a careful eye. I put a dash of cinnamon in the egg whites, so that it tasted sweeter. After about  a minute, I decided that it was ready and put it on a plate. I positioned three raspberries in a star-like manner for decoration. I poured the last of the melted butter and syrup in the center and watched it slowly drizzle down the rough brown surface. I took the plate in one hand and pushed the kitchen door open with the other. The others greeted me with smiles, laughs, and an open seat. I sat down and placed the plate in front of me with care.

"So, if the Raptors were originally with the Serpentene, then why did they not go with them when the tomb was opened?" Jay asked in between bites of French Toast.

"Probably for secrecy, of for fear that it was some sort of trap. They were much smarter than the Serpentene, you know. When they heard Lloyd say, 'You will serve me' or whatever you said, they probably layed low until the tomb was abandoned." Cole answered thoughtfuly.

"How do you know all that?" Kai asked suspiciously.

"Because I acctually read." Cole responded plainly.

Sensei walked into the room. "Pupils, it is about time we set off."

We all nodded in unison. At least I was able to get a few bites in.
