Four days later.

VINCE' POV:

Nasa harapan ako ng emergency room ng hospital na pinagtakbuhan sa amin nang matanaw ko sina King na tumatakbo papunta sa kinaroroonan ko. His face is really furious right now and anger is written all over his expression. Nakasunod lang ang buong grupo sa likuran niya. Hindi ko na iniwasan pa ang suntok ni King na dumapo sa aking panga. It's my fault after all.

"Bakit mo hinayaang mangyari sa kanya yun!" He shouted to me habang nasa magkabilang braso niya sina Paul at Van na pinipigil ang muli niyang pag-atake sa akin.

Tinignan ko lang siya ng puno ng paghingi ng tawad sa aking mata, hindi ko na rin ini-inda ang mga injury na natamo ko mula sa nangyari dahil nanaig sa aking sistema ang takot at pag-aalala sa kalagayan niya. For f*ck's sake! She's been inside the E.R. for more than an hour.

"King it's not his fault. It's just an accident." Depensa sa akin ni Jace habang yakap-yakap niya sa kanyang tabi si Princess na umiiyak and beside her is Earl na tulala pa sa nangyari. I feel guilty about what happened. Hindi naman dapat sana ganun but I didn't expect the sudden attack of the enemy. It was just supposed to be a minor one but damn! Her life is at stake right now.

***FLASHBACK:

I closed the book I'm currently reading when I felt a weird gaze. It feels like I'm being stared by a fearsome creature. Iginiya ko ang aking mga paningin patungo sa kaisa-isang tao na kasama ko sa kwarto and there I saw Miss Cruz widely awake with her forehead creased and her red eyes staring intently to me.

"Where am I? What are you doing here?" Magkasunod niyang tanong kaya tumayo ako sa pagkakaupo ko at lumapit sa kanya. She's still at the hospital dahil narin sa natamo niyang tama ng baril mula sa pagsalakay sa kanya ng Death Duos sa condo ni King.

"At the hospital. What do you feel? Shall I call the doctor?" I asked her.

"I'm fine. No need to call." It's her normal tone yet it still radiates deadliness.

I almost couldn't believe that she's Demon Princess at first but when I saw her fighting skills it shouts more than that. She's not just a normal gangster who happens to become the queen of the Gangster Underworld. Nadiskubre ko lang ang pagkatao niya dahil nagtutugma sa mga kaibigan niyang sina Jones, Hamington and the Wilson twins ang pagkatao ng mga kuruta gang members, idagdag pa ang nakita kong kakayahan nila nang unang pagsalakay sa amin ng kalaban sa huling araw ng University intramurals. And again now, I can feel that she's hiding something bigger than that. And I bet King doesn't know anything about it.

"Where's Monster? Bakit ikaw ang nandito?" She asked me when she noticed that there's the two of us.

"He needs to do something important so he instructed me to be your temporary guard here." Sagot ko at napatango lang siya bilang tugon.

I can still imagine how angered king was when I was with him. His eyes were so black and I only saw that type of anger when Eleiza was kidnapped. He even punched me numerous times for being unable to guard his sister two years ago. That is the same thing that Miss Cruz can do to him, she can take out the worst of him but there's one thing only she could bring out. It's the best of King. She's the only person who can control King and make him smile in simple ways which no one can.

"So tell me Miss Cruz. How did you survive the attack of the deadliest assassins of the era?" I asked her.

Napapaisip kasi talaga ako kung paano. Yeah, she may be very strong but the Mafia World is a hundred times more deadly than the gangster's. What did she do in order to survive such a life and death situation?
