CHAPTER 55: EGU Under Attack

KING's POV:

Hindi na natuloy ang plano namin ni Beast na mag-unwind kinabukasan. I couldn't risk things knowing that the Card members including Lady Z are also at Japan. Well, I didn't have the chance to confront Elle because she immediately left after the enemy attacked.

Nawalan na rin ako ng ganang magliwaliw dahil narin sa mga nangyari ng gabing iyon. Halata ko rin na wala sa mood si Beast so we both agreed of going home already.

Pansin ko rin ang biglaang pagbabago na naman ng mood ni Beast. Napapadalas kasi ang pagkatulala at pagtahimik niya. Minsan kahit kakausapin mo siya ay hindi ka niya mapapansin kung hindi mo pa aalugin and it makes me worried on her.

"Because of an unknown reason, the enemy retreated. That's what you mean, am I right?" Lolo said while reviewing our reports. Nasa main base kami ngayon at kasalukuyang nagaganap ang isang pagtitipon.

"Yes." I answered.

"Anything you may add, Elle." Nabaling ang atensyon namin kay Elle na himalang tahimik ngayon. Nakatingin lang rin siya ng diretso mula nang nagsimula ang pagpupulong. Siguradong may nangyaring hindi maganda nang gabing iyon sa Japan. She'd been silent since that night. Ano nga bang nangyari sa kanila ni Lady Z.

"H-huh?" Just as I thought. Her attention is out of nowhere.

"Pay attention Elle!" Her father scolded her but she just remained impassive.

"She introduced us to them." I may sound na parang nagsusumbong ako but it is something on her bad traits that should be corrected or else it might cause us trouble in the future.

"She- what?" Mom repeated while glaring at Elle na wala paring karea-reaksyon. She doesn't even seem to care whatever I just said.

"She introduced us as the Crown Royale heirs." I said.

"It was a careless act, Elle!" Om scowled at Elle but we received no answer from her. Not even a simple apology or a usual witty reaction like she always do.

"Something happened, tell us." Her father asked Elle in a calm manner making her taking a very noticeable sigh.

"I-I heard her said CODE WHITE then everybody from their party started retreating." She said absent mindedly pertaining to Z. Silang dalawa ang naglaban kaya't siguradong ito ang sinasabi niya.

"Is that all?" Her dad asked her like as if weighing if there's more that she knows.

"Y-yeah." She uttered but something was missing. It's her usual confidence.

"What should we do now? The only remaining letter that was left was the letter S but we don't have any base that starts with it anymore." Pag-iiba ng topic ng isa sa mga lider na naroon.

"But we should know where it will be. It's their final attack and I'm quite sure that it'll be something we should all be ready." Someone from them said again.

"Any idea?" Tanong ni dad sa akin pero umiling ako. I'm out of ideas now and it'll be silly to ask Elle this time because surely we won't be getting any sane answer from her.

"We'll continue our meeting next time and I want clear answers from all of you. Meeting adjourned." Puno ng awtoridad na turan ni Lolo kaya't nagbaba ng ulo muna lahat bago sila nagsimulang magsi-alisan. Tumayo na rin si Elle maging ako but our parents called both of us.

"Both of you, you may have a vacation. We know you're both exhausted. Let us take care of this for the mean time." Sabi ni lolo kaya't bahagya akong lumingon rito at tumango bago tuluyang umalis.
