(Xoe’s POV)

I stumbled backwards after crashing into Blaze. I staggered and fell but he caught me around the waist before I hit the ground and dragged him down with me. I felt my face flame from constantly being so clumsy or maybe it was from the close contact. I silently cursed to myself telling me he was just helping me.

“Hey there Xoe. Falling for me again are you?” Blaze chuckled.

He's such a self centered asshole...

“So how are you getting home today? Car? Bus? Bike?”

My blush deepened and I found the floor very interesting to look at. Where was Zel? He was supposed to be here by now and I wouldn’t have to be embarrassed. “I walk home… It’s like my daily exercise haha… and I don’t really find a need for a car if I only live 2 miles away.”

“Stripes wanted me to tell you that he had to be checked out early because his sister had some problems or something,” Blaze informed me. “So I’ll be your escort today. I live in Lexington Creek too. In fact I live a block down from you.”

Blaze steered me towards the school exit and we walked towards my house. Blaze seemed like a real funny guy and enjoyed talking to me as well. He was a gentleman and but he held up some sort of pride. He was cocky and too confident for his own good but I suppose I couldn’t really judge him because I was like that too.

“So you’re the famous Xoe Lynn that Stripes always talks about. You’re like his best friend” Blaze said.

“So I’ve heard” I laughed. It wasn’t the first time someone told me that today. Zel was famous at my old school too. I’ve talked about him countless times. We truly were like two peas in a pod. I couldn’t really imagine where I would be if I hadn’t of had him in my life. It would be awful. I would be so lost and I wouldn’t of met Conner or Blaze or Melanie.

Blaze dropped me off at my house but not before I fell and he caught me again. This was being extremely embarrassing. I hoped that Blaze didn’t think I was a freak. Oh wait. Too late.

(Blaze’s POV)

Xoe was so innocent it was funny. She’s one of my best friend’s best friend. I could tell that Stripes was falling for her and I’m sure that Conner is after her too. I shook my head. She’s too blind to see what was out in front of her.

(Xoe’s POV)

“Where were you yesterday?” I asked Zel with irritation in my voice

“I’m sorry! My sister’s car broke down so I had to go run home and get the car and help her out so I left early without telling you but I’m sure that Blaze handled you and your  inner Klutzilla just fine as far as I heard” Zel replied laughing. I blushed and turned away.

“Shut up!!!" I said looking at the ground, "I have to get to homeroom. Apparently we have some meet and greet with Kelly Ville Students that are transferring here. Haha I guess it’s a good thing that I decided to come at the beginning of the year and didn’t go through with the program”

“Have fun then,”  Zel said and turned left to go to his class on the other side of the building.

I was excited. Maybe I would see some of my old friends or maybe I would even be able to hang out with them. I couldn’t wait! I practically sprinted to homeroom in order to see who would be there to meet me. I was bouncing and full of joy.

I ran into class and almost crashed into someone. I looked up and saw a pretty girl with a face I couldn’t forget.

“KENZLIE!!” I threw my arms around her. “HI!! HAVEN’TSEENYOUINLIKEFOREVERHOWAREYOU?!” The words spilled out of my mouth so fast they were slurring into one. I was so excited to see one of my closet friends. She was like my twin when I was in Kelly-ville and I was glad I wouldn’t have to be separated this year like I thought we would be.

“XOE! OMGIMISSEDYOU!” Kenzlie screamed back. We were both bouncing up and down. I couldn’t believe that my best friend was being transferred here. I couldn’t wait to show her around. We might have classes together or something. I could finally show her Zel!

“So guess what Xoe? I’m your shadow for the next week and then after that I have all my core classes with you!!  How amazing is that?!” Kenzlie blurted out. I couldn’t believe it! This was going to be so great!!

----------------------------------------------

When the final bell rang I grabbed my bag and pulled Kenzlie to the lockers for her to meet Zel. Blaze and Zel were talking when we got there and I introduced them to my friend. Zel and Blaze said hi and then Zel offered to show her to the parking lot and Blaze walked me home just like yesterday and I was starting enjoy it.

Everything was so great. I loved how everything was doing good for me.  My best friend from Kelly Ville is here. I was here with Zel. I made friends with some amazing people and I’m sure there was nothing that could bring me down. I loved it here and everyone was good to me. I was such a lucky person. This was going to be a perfect year and it looked like I could predict clear skies ahead. What I didn’t know was that I shouldn’t be the weather man.
