Kenzlie's POV

“Could you hand me those shorts over there Xoe?” I asked my best friend.

I had been packing for camp all day. The school required us to take this trip for biology and geography and some other educational purposes but all of the students knew that it was just a fund raiser for the school and it was getting the kids to advertise for the camp. Either way the kids were going to have a blast anyway. I was so excited. Xoe and I would be bunking together and Melanie would be in our cabin as well.

“Here! Catch!!” Xoe yelled as she threw my denim shorts across the room and hit me in the face.

We both laughed as we stuffed our bags of the materials we needed. This trip was going to be amazing since it was early September. It wouldn’t be too hot and it wouldn’t be cold either! Me and Xoe talked and she helped me cram the last bit of materials into my bag.

Xoe got up and laughed as she lifted up my suit case. “We are just going to be gone for a week. Not an entire month and a half!” Xoe said pointing to my bloated bag.

“I just wanted to make sure I was prepared!” I said trying to act offended. We laughed and she grabbed her purse and started to head out the door.

“I’m going over to Zel’s. He needs help packing apparently too” Xoe said pulling on her black wedges and trying to respond to Stripe’s text at the same time. “He forgot his list of things so I need to go and help him apparently. He’s like a little brother that’s so careless!”

I laughed with her and walked her out. “Yeah I guess I’ll see you on Monday and we can go to camp!! I’m so excited! Haha well have fun at Stripe’s. Don’t kill him while you’re there!” I chuckled and went back inside shutting the door behind me. What would Zel do without Xoe?

Xoe’s POV

I walked towards Zel’s house just half a mile away from Kenzlie’s. I grabbed my key for his house out of my bag but had barley inserted it before Zel opened the door for me and ushered me inside. He pushed me up his stairs and into his room where he had clothes everywhere unable to decide what to put into his suit case as he had forgotten his list and didn’t know what to bring.

“Help me!!!” Zel screamed as he waved his arms all around him.

“Well first off you are going to need a bigger suit case.” I said laughing at his tiny briefcase size suitcase.

Zel sprinted back and forth through his room and all over his house trying to get the materials he needed as I told him the things he still had to grab while ticking off the things he already had in my mental list.

“So Zel… Rumor has it that you like this one girl” I said just to see what he would say. In fact I haven’t heard of Zel’s latest crush in awhile…

I looked over and Zel seemed flustered and blushed a little bit. I suppose I hit a nerve there. “I mean there’s this one girl and I-”

Zel’s words were interrupted but the door bell ringing and I jogged downstairs to find Conner and Blaze at the door. “Hey you guys!” I greeted the boys and gave them a quick hug before running back upstairs at Zel who was yelling at me asking how the hell he was supposed to fit everything in the case.

“I mean I suppse maybe If I took these out first and shoved my shorts in first. Or I could take m-” Zel swiveled around “Oh hey guys. Xoe’s helping me back and I couldn’t get.. You know what Xoe come here.”

Zel motioned for me to go and sit down on his bag. I obediently sat down criss crossed so that I wouldn’t have to move my legs out of the way and he zipped his bag shut tight. I laughed at him and looked at Blaze.

Blaze looked back at me and said, “Stripes I’ll come back some other time. I’ll walk Xoe home.” And with that he took me by the arm and took me back to my place. I was pleased that he would walk me back home after he came all the way back out here to Zel’s place. I wouldn’t question it though. I would just want to sit and enjoy it.

Conner’s POV

I hated the way Blaze would take away Xoe as soon as I would say something or if I was about to walk her home myself. He seems to be taking her away from me.

The more I fall for Xoe, the more she becomes out of my reach. I just want to keep her from harm and I just want to have her as mine. I wanted to hear her laugh and I wanted to make her happy. I smiled at her innocence. She never seemed to have a single clue what was going on between her and her best friends.

I could tell that Stripes wasn’t very happy about Blaze either. He was one of our closest friends but I knew for a fact that in the end he was going to be trouble. Zel and I could just tell that Blaze was going to be some one difficult. It wasn’t a matter of IF it was going to happen. It was a matter of WHEN it was going to happen. Tick Tock.
