So Much For My Happy Ending

Chapter 7

“OWW!!” I screamed as I jerked out of my sleepy stage.

“Sorry!!” Kenzlie said holding her hands up innocently.

Apparently Kenzlie meant for the pillow to hit Melanie but missed at hit me instead. I laughed and I threw the pillow at her face knocking her down. We continued to throw pillows at each other until the councilor yelled at us and told us to get ready for breakfast. 

Today was the last day of camp and I was excited because today was our free day and we could do any of the activities that we wanted which meant we could hang out with the boys instead of having to go to designated spots. I haven’t seen Zel much since I have been hanging out with the girls and I wanted to tell him about all the things that had happened over the week.

I hopped out of the bunk and landed on the floor swiftly and grabbed my bag to go into the bathroom to change. Well today we would definitely be going swimming so I’ll wear my bikini under my clothes. I think it’ll be hot though so no jeans... Ummmmm I don’t think there’s much of a choice of things to wear I thought to myself as I looked through selection of clothing. I settled on a pair of denim shorts and a white tank top. I threw on my black swim suit and my clothes over it ran back to my bag to get a water bottle then went outside to wait for the girls.

“Took you long enough”

I whirled around to be greeted by Zel with Blaze and Conner following shortly behind him.

“Hey!! I haven’t seen you in awhile.” I said throwing my arms around him and giving Conner and Blaze a hug as well.

“Yeah I know! It’s so hot and I was wondering why m-” Melanie said walking through the front door but stopped short when she saw the boys. “Hey you guys!!” and she followed the same routine as I did. We were all excited to see them and we were twice as excited to go and hang out with them as a group today.

Kenzlie said hello to the boys as well and then we all went to eat breakfast.

After breakfast we decided we would go do the canoes first as the boys didn’t have that on their activities. Turns out they were really good and we tried to race them but they won twice. On the third try we tipped over and got soaked. We all laughed and decided to go swimming since all of us were drenched in the end.

The boys took us to the zip line after swimming and we all loved it. It scared the crap out of us but it was so much fun. The wind through my hair and the view was awesome. After we went through our little zipline adventure we had lunch and finished up our essays. The boys took a little longer since they had procrastinated.

We went rock climbing and bungee jumping for free time. I was pretty sore from running around by then and when we were finished with dinner the girls and I decided to go take showers first while the boys finished up their essays since they didn’t get to finish last time.

I closed my eyes and put my face up to the cold water. I was extremely tired from running around with the boys and I was exhausted from all week in general. I had fun though and after all of us are done with showers we could just go out to the docks and hang out or go to the club house. I shut the water and threw on my PJs. I ran out and climbed onto my bunk and waited for the girls to come out of the shower.

I heard a knock on the door of the cabin and I ran to see who it was. Blaze was standing there with Zel. I wonder where Conner was…

“Conner’s still in the shower. Why aren’t you ready Xoe?” Blaze asked.

I blushed. I was going to change after we had decided what we were going to do. “I um I…” I stuttered. “What are we doing? I mean I was going to go get ready after we knew what we were going to do and..” I was flustered and I was a mess. I didn’t expect them to be at the door.

“We have a casual… We thought you guys knew about it.” Zel informed me.

A casual? Like whenever you have a bunch of people in a club or something and it’s like a small party but casual without streamers and stuff where you just hang out casual? Gosh I just said casual a bunch of times. Casual? How come I didn’t know this…

“Um yeah er just a sec I mean…”

“Great meet us at our cabin. You’re obviously not ready,” Zel and Blaze laughed.

I shut the door in their faces obviously embarrassed with my obliviousness. I jogged off to tell the other girls and went to go find something to wear. I settled on a white off the shoulder top and denim shorts like always. I rummaged through my bag and settled on sandals.

The girls came out ready and we jogged off towards the boys cabin.

The casual was fun. I enjoyed just hanging out with my friends and being able to keep in touch with everybody. Conner was enjoying himself and he was happy like always. Blaze was his usual self being laid back and Zel was excited to be doing something. After the casual the girls went off to bunks to pack for tomorrow and the boys decided to go shoot hoops. After we were done packing we decided to play truth or dare.

“Me first!!” Yelled Kenzlie obviously excited.

“Truth or dare?”

“Ummmmm Truth”

This one would be easy to do. The first question is always easy. After than you base all of the Truth questions on their first question. “Who’s Kenzlie coo's crushy wushy??” Melanie asked pinching Kenzlie's cheek.

"Oh stop it," She said swatting away her hand. “Well…” Kenzlie said drawing out the l. “It’s this guy who’s in my class. He swims with me and he’s actually pretty cute.”

Me and Melanie drew in close anticipating her answer.

“Blaze Burns,” she squealed.  

Melanie jumped up and down squealing with her. I closed my eyes. Did I hear right? She liked BLAZE?! My Blaze? I liked Blaze! This wasn’t going to work. She liked the same guy that I liked! Never in my life have we ever liked the same guy. We didn’t have the same taste in boys and now…

I put on my best fake smile and looked back at Kenzlie.

“Really?” I asked innocently.

“Yeah and I’m pretty sure he likes me too!”

You have to be kidding me.
