Kennedy's POV
Down, down, down, we fell, plummeting towards an unknown. The ground couldn't be seen, because it was so overcast by trees and rocks. The wind whipped past my ears, blocking out all else and I scrunched my eyes closed, I didn't want to witness my own or anyone else's death.
I heard a splash over the whistling of the wind, but only a matter of milliseconds before I was engulfed by waters and continued to sink lower and lower, consuming my body as the pain of impact slapped against me. I tried to kick out with my legs and arms, but the water dragged me down, pulling me deeper into its icy depths. With arms flailing around me and air depleting from my lungs, making them burn and plead for me to get to the surface. Panic started to settle in, causing my brain and heart to work ten times as hard to figure a way of cheating death, again.
My legs kicked harder, pushing me upwards towards the surface. I squinted through the water, the blurred sun from through the water and over the trees barely shining, reducing what little hope I had left of survival. But, I didn't give up, not today, not when I've already gotten this far. I would find the truth, even if I had to die trying. My lungs screamed at me to stop, the strain weakening my limbs as I continued to kick and claw at the water. Come on! The surface was in sight now I was almost there, just a few more kicks! I tried, I really did, but my brain completely shut down, my limbs stopped working, I began to sink again. No, was my last thought until all else faded to black.

I spluttered, water leaving my lungs, as I choked it up. I felt a pair of hands pressing down on my chest, helping the water spill out from my mouth and nose. Gross. My eye lids fluttered, but closed immediately again at the brightness that surround me and it all came rushing back. The guards finding us, the chase, the cliff, hating Onix, oh yeah, that wasn't forgotten, no way was he getting away with making us jump off a flipping cliff! I shot up, to see him sitting right in front of me; so I did the only thing I could do after nearly drowning, I slapped him around the head.
"Ow! What was that for?" he whined, water dripping from him and onto me.
I pushed him away and stood up too quickly, making me feel dizzy and begin to fall over again, before Onix caught me. My head was pounding and my leg was throbbing, probably from the dog bite. I cried out when I put weight on it when I tried to steady myself.
"Careful! Steady, we're going to have to find a hide out to rest for the rest of the day and night, maybe even tomorrow as well, because Kennedy, your leg is spurting out the red stuff."
"That's ok, as long as Kennedy get's her leg sorted, I don't mind what we do," Sade said, his eyebrows knitted together, as he eyed my leg. I was too afraid to look down and see the damage that stupid mutt had caused. I looked over to Annie, to see she was ghostly pale and staring at my leg.
"Annie, are you ok?" I asked meekly. It seemed to snap her out of her trance.
"Yeah, yeah just fine, let's find somewhere to camp." Annie said distantly.
Sade and Onix wrapped one arm each, around my waste and hauled me off of the ground. We were still under the alcove of trees and rocks, by the bank of the river. We had been seriously lucky with this one.
"How did you know there was a river here?" I asked Onix.
"I went exploring last night during my shift and found the cliff. Because it was quiet, I could hear the river, but when we jumped, I just had to hope that it was deep. You never said why you hit me, by the way."
"You made me jump off a cliff, you idiot! What do you expect?"
"Uh, a thank you, maybe? I did pull you out of the river whilst you we drowning and gave you the kiss of life." He replied cheekily.
