Kennedy's POV

The scroll was gripped tightly between my fingers of one hand and a gun was in the other as we ran back through the maze of corridors and back to the exit of the building. We were cautious when approaching corners or doors, incase a load of guards were to come and get us. My arm was still throbbing from the bullet that was still lodged there and I would occasionally feel a dribble of liquid run down and seep into the fabric of my suit jacket. I could see Onix to the side of me running with a limp and Sterling with a hand clasped at his shoulder. Both had guns along with Sade and I, and we kept them held up as we continued our way through the building.

We ran down the corridor that held the security room, with our fingers on the triggers of our guns and ready to open fire. Only, there was no one there. The security room was completely empty, devoid of any life. The images on the screens flicked between areas of the Archives. We looked at one another confused.

"Well, this is unexpected." Annie clicked, standing with a hand on her hip.

"It is strange, something must be happening, and we need to be prepared to fight our way out." Sterling stated, clicking the safety off his gun.

"I think we're going to have to find another way out. Don't you think that they're going to assume we're going to get out of the same exit that we came in by?" I thought out, before looking around to see the others nodding.

"So, how are we going to find another way out?" Annie asked and Onix just simply raised his eyebrow and smirked at Annie, his eyes flicking between Annie and the Security office.

"Uh, the answer is right there, Annie." Sade told her, pointing at the screen filled room. Annie blushed slightly in embarrassment, making me laugh. We pushed the glass door open and walked in, going over to the screens and sat down at the desks. Sterling sat in front of a screen with a keyboard beneath it and began tapping away and things started appearing on the monitor.

"What are you doing?" I asked him over his shoulder.

"I'm looking for a way out." He said, flicking through different camera views. "And I think I might have found one."

"Where?" Onix inquired.

"From my office, I had an escape door built in when I was working there. Others had them put in too, because there were loads of threats coming in from the Mavericks, so the important people, myself included."

"You're important?" I joked; making him hit me on the arm.

"Oi, niece! I'm helping us get out of here you know."

"Fine, then take us to your office, so we can get out of here in one piece. Or with whats left of us anyway." I told him and he got off his seat and straitened out his suit. He flinched when he stretched his shoulder too much, before walking out of the glass room and turning left. We followed him out, keeping ourselves alert, just like we had been before.

"Hold up a minute guys." Sade called from still in the camera room.

"What's going on, Sade?" Annie asked.

"I'm looking for where all the guards are." He muttered, poking the keyboard until some images took over the screen. "Just as you thought, Kenny; the guards are right outside the side entrance that we came through."

"All of them?" Sterling asked.

"No, some are out side the front entrance." Sade stated, showing us another set of images.

"So, we'll go out my secret exit, which leads to a back streets, we will have to go the long way round to the building and get out of there right away, head up the mountain and back towards the cave." Sterling instructed from just outside the glass door.
