Kennedy's POV

The next morning, Sterling woke up early so he could get us all food for breakfast and the navy suits we all needed. I honestly had no idea how he could afford all this, seeing as though he hadn't been working for the last year and a half, so he could find my parents and me.

When we were all awake, we sat playing cards, waiting for time to pass and for Sterling to get back. Onix had currently been winning most of the games of what he called 'Knock Out Whist', and I was pretty sure he was cheating in some way. During one of the rounds, I had instigated some tactics of my own in order to get ahead, which consisted of kissing Onix and looking down to see what cards he had. I am damn sneaky! That round I was able to scrape a win and choose the trump for the next round.

A clatter of footsteps halted our game and Sterling game into view with bags overflowing from his hands. Onix and I rushed over to relieve him of some.

"I'm surprised you were able to remain inconspicuous with all these with you, especially seeing as though you were walking through the Saboteur region." Onix commented.

"Yeah, so am I. Though I did get a few looks from passers by on the edge of the region, but apart from that, I don't think I was followed." Sterling said, confidently, before starting to pull out items from the bags. First things to come out were the food, which he handed over to Sade, who started preparing our breakfast.

Onix started emptying the bags that he had taken from Sterling, and putting the folded fabric he pulled out into a pile on top of one of the blanketed mats.

"I had to guess some of your sizes, but I think I got it right." Sterling said hesitantly, trying to justify any mistakes he might have made.

"How can you afford all this? You can't have possible gotten away with stealing it all." Annie looked at Sterling with curiosity and waited for an answer; she was speaking my thoughts.

"I had a very high up position in the Government, I was an advisor for the Governor, but stopped when Kenny and her parents went missing. I could tell something fishy had been happening for a while before I left, but I couldn't figure out what. A group of other advisors and the Governor had become very secretive and avoided me as often as they could. Every so often, they would send me off on pointless errands, which I eventually questioned, but it only made it worse." Sterling answered tentatively, rubbing the back of his neck with the palm of his hand.

"Why did you work for them? They crush any freedom we have." Onix stated stiffly, with piercing eyes. I walked over to him and leaned on his shoulder. I didn't want his political views to affect his opinions of the only known family to me.

"I was offered a job, low down in the system out of education. I just got excited at the fact that I was going to be able to buy things with the money offered, so I accepted it. I slowly worked my way up, because people liked me, I was easy to talk to and seen as the joker. It also helped that my sister worked in the Archives, so I was seen as a trustworthy figure. I tried to be withdrawn from the whole political opinions and used that to my advantage as people saw me as being unbiased." Sterling shrugged.

"So in other words, you're loaded." I stated bluntly.

"Yes, you could say that." He replied, uncomfortably. I nodded and took a deep breath, preparing myself for the conversation change I was about to pull.

"So, are we going to try these things on or not?" I asked everyone with a raised eyebrow. Annie grabbed two suits off from the blanket and held it up.

"Let's do this thing." She said, before dragging me into the bathroom with her. She handed me a suit and we quickly pulled them on. I had to say, Sterling had done a good job at guessing our sizes. The suit fit both of us snugly, almost showing off our too slim frames. We walked out of the bathroom to show off our disguises. Sterling gave us the thumbs up and Sade smiled and nodded in approval. When I looked over to Onix to see him just staring at me, which made me blush. I then gained confidence and strutted over to him.
