A mermaid lagoon in a place that was so very new. It was here that I stopped to stare at you.
All my life, I'd dreamed of getting away, of finding a better place.
I wanted to never grow up, to live in a world of make believe.
You took that from me.
You showed me the flowers, the plants and all the trees. Then, you posed for a picture with me.
The animals ranged from large to small and, yet, I was mesmerized by them all.
You gave me a great day, or so I believed. Little did I know, you had been setting a trap.
It was a long drive home and, four showers later, you were still on my skin. Why had I ever let you in?
No one knows what happened that day. No one knows how my world has turned grey.
I keep my windows closed and locked.
Neverland isn't a safe place for me.
You took me. And, you destroyed me.
