I've had this headcanon forever that Jason's fatal flaw would be trust. Now, I could rant about it, but it would take too much time so idk maybe re read and see if you can find the clues.

"Did you ever think that you and Annabeth were going to be a couple?"

Jason broke the teenager's faraway stare. Percy swiveled his head towards his boyfriend, his eyebrows raised.

"Why do you ask?"

Jason fidgeted. It wasn't like he was jealous, they were already dating! But he just wanted to know. And he wasn't sure why. It had been bothering him for a while.

"Just... 'cause."

Percy rested his hand Jason's. He leaned back against the railing of the big house. He got an obscure, distant look in his eyes. He did that often now-a-days.

"Yeah, maybe at one point. But after the labyrinth, mind you we had already kissed at that point, it had gotten, I don't know. Different? We were more brotherly and sisterly towards each other. People probably had mistaken us as a couple anyways. It didn't change how I protected her though, she was one of my friends. My best friends. I mean, I would do the same for all of you," he said.

"Oh." He didn't know if he was satisfied or not.

"We're you worried or something? You can trust me, Jason." Percy had a serious look and he squeezed Jason's hand. A lingering sense of anxiety hid behind Percy's facial features. An unsure quirk to his mouth, furrowed brows, body leaning towards Jason in a questioning yet hesitant way.

Trust.

Jason had heard that so many times.

"You can trust me"

"I'm not your enemy, I'm on your side! Trust me!"

"I love you, Jason."

He squirmed and unraveled his hand from Percy's and tried not to feel guilty about Percy's hurt face.

"I trust you." He finally said. It didn't sound convincing even to him.

He tried so hard to make it sound true. He really did trust Percy. But there was always doubts. Second guesses. What ifs.

"Well, okay." Percy said slowly. He kept his eyes on Jason, wary and waiting for a change.

Jason sighed. "Look Perce, it's not like that. It's just. I have a hard time trusting people- AGH- not you, I trust you. But- this is hard."

Percy's face relaxed and a smile crept on his face. "Jason, do you know what a fatal flaw is?"

Jason was confused. Where was this going? "Ah, no."

Percy laughed. "Really? I thought you would because- never mind. Point is, a fatal flaw is your one personal issue or problem that can ultimately get you killed. Every hero has one," he said.

He paused at Jason's confused face. He just wasn't  getting it.

"Wow and I thought I was a 'seaweed brain'." Percy muttered.  "Okay, for example, let's say your fatal flaw issssssss pride." Percy waved his hands in a whatever motion. Before continuing his eyes made a sweeping gesture across the camp, as if looking for someone to be wary of. Jason wondered if Percy was speaking from experience about this flaw. He continued.

"You might be training and getting really really tired, but you are too stubborn to say 'let's stop'. Because you don't want to feel weak. To have your pride wounded.  And then, you get hurt because you can no longer focus because your strength is sapping. Now, imagine in battle how that would turn out." To punctuate his effects, his arms made wild movements and gestures across the air.
