I combined the prompts...yet again
Piper, Annabeth, and Hazel all took the mattress in the dining room of the Argo II, Coach Hedge was having no boy and girl in the same sleeping area; leaving Jason and Percy on the couch and Leo and Frank sharing the stables. Frank had protested, of course, that Leo was a fire hazard with all the straw around them. But it was obvious that he just really did not want to sleep with the unconsciously night cuddling Latino with severe hazard of burn risks. Frank kept a two stall distance between them.
There had been a leak in the piping leading into all of the rooms. Leo claimed it was because of the recent attack of venti, and it wasn't impossible, but it seemed more likely an excuse than to admit he made a mistake. The only rooms not in danger of suffocating the demigods were the stables and dining room.
Jason wasn't too happy with the couch, but he figured it could have been worse. It could be way better if Percy wasn't known for being a restless sleeper and kicking the whole night. Jason opted for sleeping while sitting up while the son of Poseidon could flail all he wanted in his sleep.
Kicking wasn't the only thing he did in his sleep though. (besides drooling) Percy mumbled the whole night long and Jason wondered how in the Hades the girls were still asleep. Maybe Hazel's hair covered their ears enough or Piper charmspoke them into a deeper sleep.
By midnight, the mumbling became more frequent and Jason watched Percy with a smile on his face, determined not to laugh out loud and wake up the girls. That group of girls would probably not be pretty to see angry and half awake.
Jason strained to hear the words Percy was mumbling. He leaned closer to him. It was these random times he thanked Lupa for teaching him how to listen as well as a wolf. He could totally use this against Percy in the future. If only he could hear what he was saying...
"Jason."
What?
"Stop it, no."
Um
"No." Louder this time. Jason cringed and hoped no one besides him heard. He glanced at the other side of the room where Hazel shifted in the sheets.
"I didn't- no. Jason?"
What the hades? What is he going on about?
"No, no, no. I- please no."
His voice cracked, Jason wasn't sure if it was from sleep or from whatever he was dreaming about. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Should he wake Percy?
Seeing your friends, your quest mates, your demigod friends sleeping was always something unnerving. It always was a harsh wake up call that-yeah- they were all still human, still kids really. Vulnerable, full of emotion and thoughts and fears. Seeing Percy like this though, it was pretty....scary almost. He had been told that Percy was one of the strongest demigods of the Greeks. He was the most powerful. And at first glance you don't really see that. He looked like a just a 16 year old. But when he got that face, his battle face, his voice changed and his overall demeanor was something like a warrior. The fierceness in the way he fought, the thought behind every quick action, the laugh when he won. Jason could see it clearly then, and he wondered how he compared to this other child of the Big Three.
Percy flinched in his sleep again, mumbling something inaudible, but stressed. Jason tapped his shoulder lightly. "Percy?"
Percy didn't move. His eyelashes fluttered and the silver light that leaked through the windows made something on his face sparkle. With a sickening twist in his stomach(that left him wondering why it hurt him so bad to see this) Jason realized that the light reflecting off Percy's eyes and cheeks was water. Tears.
