"Was it worth it?" Jason tiredly rubbed Percy's hair dry. The latter had gone out in the rain for a run, insisting that he would be awake when he came back to study. After all, he had said, water always woke him up.  All he had accomplished from this run was wet hair and severe sneezing.

A sniff echoed in the room before he got a response. "Yep. Maybe I shouldn't have been out as long though."

Jason gave a small laugh. "You think? You haven't gotten a full minute of air since you walked in."

"I-I-" He was broken off by a sneeze. "Know." Percy heaved a sigh before leaning into Jason's touch, closing his eyes. Jason fumbled with the towel.

"You gonna be okay to study?" Percy's nose was pink and he kept his eyes closed for many intervals. His eyelashes fluttered tiredly. Jason frowned.

Percy shrugged. "Dunno, I'm just coughing and sneezing. Maybe I'm fine. Just tired. Maybe I can wait until Saturday. That'll give me three more days."

Jason hummed in agreement. "That sounds like a good idea."

The wet haired boy shivered suddenly. "God, I need a new shirt on, I'm freezing."

"Hold on! You're hair isn't dry. I swear its like a sponge, we've been sitting here for thirty minutes and its hardly dried."

"M, that's unfortunate for you. I get to sit here while you dry my hair."

"You know I'm only doing this because I don't want you to get sick, right?" Too late, he thought.

"Wha-a-tever," he stuttered.

Jason stopped with the towel, dropping his hands. "You sure you're okay? You're sounding worse and worse."

Percy smiled, though he did not open his eyes again. "Yes, mother."

Jason snorted. "I'm gonna call your mom and tell her what you did."

Percy yawned. "She wont be surprised." He chuckled quietly and moved deeper into the couch.

The blonde shook his head. He didn't know what he was getting into when he met Percy for their first "unofficial" date. Now, six months later he was drying his hair like a mother to a child. Always looking after each other, well, it felt he was the one screaming in the background while Percy did gods knew what.

At least it wasn't like that time when Percy ran into the road to stop the traffic because a elementary girl was too focused in her art book. Or that time when he got startled so hard he knocked over a vase and cut his hand. Jason smiled at the memories. Sure, at the time, they were terrifying, but he loved them nonetheless. He didn't mind watching out for his quick to act boyfriend, he actually admired him when it came to his actions. (mind you, not the disastrous ones, like the vase) He was in awe every time he remembered Percy grabbed the girl without any thought of the cars. Jason had to think long and hard if he would act first, think later. Or the opposite.  Asking Percy the same question later that day, after recovering from his almost heart attack, Percy responded with "I didn't care what the consequences would be as long as I kept the kid safe. Anyone, really." Jason thought deeply about that a lot. Something about it reassured him, but part of it scared him.

When he jolted out of his nostalgic memories, he realized he had been staring intently  at Percy's face. Percy was looking up, raindrops hanging off his black eyelashes, one dripping off the tip of his sneeze abused nose. His freckles were magnified under the fresh water. Percy's eyes were calm, loving. His mouth tilted in a serene half smile.

Jason felt an electric shock run through his body. His face heated up and he was sure he was as red as the towel he was rubbing. His hands jolted. Percy jumped. "What?"

"nothing. Just got...startled, is all." He quickly resumed to rubbing his boyfriend's hair again. He wasn't sure if It was Percy burning up now, or his hands.

Percy cleared his throat and shivered once more before looking backup at Jason.

"Love you," he mumbled sleepily.

Jason's heart skipped a beat. He looked back at the face staring back up at him. He was reminded of a silly song that was way out of season.
