Reyna had been expecting the boys for 2 hours now. She drummed her fingers on her desk impatiently while looking out the window. The sky was a dark bruise color and the faintest trace of starlight shine on the empty streets.Praetor Zhang had already gone to bed. He would meet Percy and Jason tomorrow when they found a place to map and new statue of Neptune and minor sea gods. Jason had told Reyna that he would bring Percy along especially for this trip.
Something from behind the glass window interrupted her thoughts. Sweeping her silky toga from under her feet(it wouldn't be very praetor-like to trip and fall) she stalked over to the window to inspect the arrivals outside. It was a large black Pegasus and a beautiful wind spirit.
Tempest was his name?
Reyna had a thing for horses. They were so powerful and regal looking. Much like the son of Zeus she used to be smitten with.
She shook her head, sheathed her knife and opened the door.
"You're late." She placed her hand son her hips.
A brightly illuminated head drifted towards her. Jason flashed a tired smile. "Yeah, well we ran into some angry venti and you know how it is."
Percy drowsily drifted towards Jason from blackjack. He looked extremely tired. Well, both of them did.
Reyna sniffed. "You've lost some of your Roman, Grace."
"What can I say? The Greeks have fun. Although," he put up a finger, "arriving late because of venti with anger issues is not fun."
Reyna offered him a small smile before opening the door to her lounge.
"Did Terminus give you trouble?"
Percy spoke up. "As always." He flopped onto the couch and Jason did so as well.
"He needs to take out whatever sword is up his podex and chill." Percy muttered under his breath while snuggling deeper into the couch.
The two snorted at the half asleep comment.
Reyna arched her brow. "How long have you two been flying? It usually doesn't take as long."
Percy sat up leaned forward on his hands.
"Twelve hours. Stupid venti hate me."
"Didn't seem to like me much either," Jason muttered darkly. "At least Dylan wasn't a part of that group. I hate him the most."
Reyna cringed. She straightened immediately. "Well, at least you two made it. Would you like some water?"
She figured the son of Posiedon would need it and it wouldn't hurt Jason to have some.
"Please." Percy said so fast that Jason and Reyna both jumped and then laughed. She watched him and Jason both lean back on the couch and she left to get the water.
When she returned, she saw Jason reading through a piece of paper with difficulty and Percy sleeping with his head on Jason's shoulder. She set down the water bottles.
"Does that, um, bother you?" She said while gesturing to the now sleeping boy.
Jason looked up. "Huh? Oh no, he does it all the time. He's tired, he sits down, boom," Jason clapped his hands,"he's asleep. And if you're 'lucky'", he made air quotes, "he falls asleep on you."
Reyna inwardly thought that it was extremely cute and in truth, it was. They looked like a couple. Reyna secretly wanted that but oh well, that Amazon girl though.(Shut up Percy reference, check out her fanfic)
Reyna cleared her throat. "Are your eyes okay? You're squinting."
He rubbed his eyes. "No, I lost my glasses in a battle and now I'm pretty blurry. Got a headache."
"I'm sure you can get a new prescription here. New Rome has it all." She bragged.
"I'm missing out," he agreed. "But I've got two lives and I like it. So, here I am." His voice had taken on a sleepy crack in it and his eyes dropped.
"Hey, get some rest. I'll be back in the morning. " she took on a tone that was almost motherly. When did I speak to Jason like that?
Jason nodded softly to not disturb Percy and Reyna wondered how he was going to get him off. She made her way to the door and then turned around and looked at Jason for one more second.
She met his gaze and spoke,"don't hit your head falling off the couch." She whispered.
Jason smiled at her attempt of bringing back their old friendship. "Shut up Praetor." He muttered.
Reyna shut the door and grinned.

The next day, she was met on her way to the lounge by her two metallic dogs. Their metal paws clinked on the stone roads of new Rome. Reyna loved the sound. It was comforting. What wasn't comforting was the sliver and gold flashes that hit her eyes in the early sunlight.
"Hey, stop, you're flashing me." She softly pushed her dogs away and covered her eyes. They nudged her and she pet them. She loved her companions. The two metal dogs barked when she reached the lounge door. "Shhh it's just Jason and Percy."
The dogs perked at the familiar names and Reyna rattled her keys into the lock. Stepping into the cold room, she looked to the last place she saw the teenagers and almost laughed aloud. She slapped her hand over her mouth to try and conceal any laughter.
Jason apparently didn't worry about moving Percy because they were side by side on the couch and Percy still had his head rested by Jason's shoulder and Jason had an arm draped around them both in a protective way. Despite Jason's clean cut hair, it looked as if he had stuck his finger In a socket (which considering the fact he was immune to lightning he could) and it was wild. Percy's hair was much more tangled looking and covered his eyes. He drooled in his sleep.
Dorks, Reyna thought.
