Louis' POV
"I think this calls for a party!" I squealed, patting Liam firmly on his back. Liam finally got the guts to ask the girl he had been chasing for months out and I was beyond happy for him (and for myself) seeing she was fit, I wouldn't mind stopping by to find her half naked - Liam was the kind of guy to switch places every night (not sex wise but sleepover wise). He never liked staying at the headquarters for over three nights, so he basically just popped out of no where and asked to stay in. I usually didn't mind, as long as El was okay with that I just went with the flow. Women are the ones to make the decisions nowadays.
"I don't think it's a good idea, mate. No offence but I think she's not mentally prepared to meet you guys just yet." Liam chuckled, eyeing all of us then throwing his head back in laughter at the thought. He had that dreamy, ear to ear smile people have when they fancy someone. A smirk threatened to break over my face watching his shining face.
Here was the difference between Liam and me: I thought I was funny and people actually laughed at my jokes, whereas Liam found himself so freaking funny he made himself laugh. I shook my head.
"I bet you're scared she'll love us more than she loves you." I chanted, giving half a smile to cease my sarcastic words, my body leaning onto the kitchen counter with a cup of beer in my hand.
Liam was about to shoot back, his eyebrows raised at my words when Harry stepped into the room, his curly mop messier than usual. I snickered.
He stopped in his tracks, eyeing all of us suspiciously.
"Am I missing out on something? What's that fucking get-together about? You sound like a bunch of teenage girls giggling like that." He asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
"You actually are! Liam finally had the balls to ask Sophia out." I reached out to rub his back in mock comfort and he slapped my hand away, causing a chuckle to escape my lips.
Harry's eyes flickered to Liam, widening in shock as his jaw dropped. He continued to take long strides in our direction, eyes fixed on Liam until they were mere inches apart. Before Liam could grasp the situation, Harry attacked him with a hug.
I burst into laughter when Liam tried wiggling out of Harry's grip with no avail. I clutched my stomach whilst Harry was petulantly pushed off Liam, his left cheek denting into a dimple as he gave a cheeky smile.
Being Harry's best friend since ever, I pretty well knew this side of him came out rarely - for his mind was consistently shrouded with a mass of darkness and grudges he had trouble getting rid of. He was a good guy, regardless of his taunting past and anger issues. I was hoping Gwen would help him get rid of the bedevilled cloud, people should really give her more credit; she's an amazingly strong young lady, one's brain can't even comprehend what this girl had been through since the very beginning of her childhood.
It tugged at my heart.
Liam's jaw contracted as his nostrils flared at us.
"I'll have you both know that the drop-dead gorgeous gentleman I am, I've been waiting on her to be ready before I actually asked her out." He remarked, sticking his chin up arrogantly.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night, mate." I nodded sarcastically. Harry chuckled at my words.
"As much as I'd love to stay here and ponder on Liam's enviable ways and charms of getting birds, I need to have a word with you, Lou." Harry said, his expression twirled into a serious one, the small smile that was on display seconds prior gone by now.
Curiosity sparked in the pit of my stomach as I sent him a firm nod, I followed Harry out of the room and bid Liam goodbye as he went out to pick Sophia up - something about taking her to the cinema, was it?
