The depths of piercing emerald eyes stared at me as I turned to face my intruder, a smile taking over my face at Harry's return. I propped my right elbow up on the grass and looked at him, he did the same with his left elbow.
"Hello pretty one." He chuckled, sending a tinted blush up my cheeks.
"Hi Harry."
Not waiting any longer, he leant in, closing the space between us and attaching his soft, plump lips with mine. I closed my eyes, letting our lips move perfectly in sync. Suddenly, Harry dropped his elbow, causing me to roll on top of him. I smiled into the kiss as he grabbed my tiny waist, wrapping his muscular arms around me. Our foreheads pressed together as I carefully felt down his stomach, craving his warm touch. My hands trembled as I caught hold of the bottom of his shirt, pulling him closer.
"How can someone look as breath taking as you and not be an angel." Harry breathed out, rubbing his nose against mine as we both pulled away, out of breath.
I smiled shyly at his words, letting his thumb brush along my cheekbones as he stared at me with those sparkling green eyes.
The sunlight felt great, the relatively warm weather warming my skin. There was not a single gust of wind, just the sounds of our breathing. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw one of Harry's expensive cars parked in the driveway. Thoughts of the other day immediately started flooding my brain like a bunch of famished raptors diving for a hopeless rodent, increasing my hunger for answers I was yet to receive.
Shifting out of Harry's grip, I lurched off his body before he had a chance to stop me. You would expect anger to stream through me, but no, there was not an ounce of vexation behind my motives. Just sheer curiosity.
"I quite liked this position, mind you." Harry groaned, turning to examine my face.
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't, though I believe you owe me some explanations" I flicked my head in the direction of his car, and he followed my gesture, his eyes fixing on his glamorous car.
His gaze remained unmoving for a few more seconds before he let out a puff of air, the subject dawning on him. "Are you sure you want to bring it up right now? Don't wanna ruin the mood."
His cutting jaw tensed, frowning in a way that expressed annoyance. This statement only fuelled my curiosity, much to Harry's evasive nature.
"Stop avoiding it Harry, I absolutely hate it when you keep stuff away from me. The sooner I know the less angry I'll get. Always." I assured him.
I could tell by the way he fidgeted that he was a little unsure of how to handle the situation.
"Just know I've stopped okay? Everybody makes mistakes and well-"
"I know Harry, just go on."
Harry pinched the bridge of his nose. The intensity of the situation caused me to furrow my eyebrows, apparently Harry was one of these people who had to move their hands when under pressure, it was cute.
"The people who got killed in the games... Most of them had families."
I harshly swallowed down the lump in my throat, not fond of the way it had started. Harry anxiously rubbed his face, fingers drifting to hold my hand.
"Their families sought a proper burial."
I was finding it difficult to understand, my thoughts swirling uncontrollably at his words. To anyone else it may've been accepted that Harry had given the bodies back to be buried properly, nothing to cause concern. But I knew there was more to it, I could see it in his eyes, pleading me not to ask. But I had to.
