My eyes flew open, sensing a liquid dripping down my forehead.
Something itchy annoyed my chin and I stretched my palm to wipe it away. A water drop.
I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hands and blinked several times in order to get used to the dim light of the room, coughing to get the stinging ache out of my chest. Wait what?
My eyes were now wide open as if I hadn't even been asleep a couple of minutes ago. I observed the eerie room in details while panic was starting to build up inside of me.
The room itself was hazy and unclear due to the lack of lightening.
The what so bright light was a huge gleaming arrow on the wooden wall, that was most likely the reason for my blinding. I strolled towards the wall to examine it, everything seemed so creepy and surreal at the moment. A nightmare. My stomach was aching as I got the gut feeling that something was off. Something bad was about to take place and my hunches were never mistaken.
Flashbacks of last night at the pub with that Zayn guy were starting to race in my head. His warning. He recommended me to back off which I intended to do but unfortunately, my reflexes were too slow and my fate had already been chosen without the agreement of my will.
I raised both my arms to make sure there weren't any more bruises forming due to the strong grasp of that mysterious man. Even though I remembered him being quite gentle last night (his kind of gentle) I had to make sure. When I was convinced there were no new injuries added to my collection I let my hands drop back to the sides of my body and drifted my attention back to the shining arrow.
I was fully aware of the fact that following the instructions of that ruthless criminal was probably a death wish, but it was already too late. I was left with the choice to rot out in here or risk the chance of something happening.
I went for the second option.
I paced in the direction the arrow led me to find myself standing alone in a pitch black hall. I took a big breath and kept walking, my footsteps echoing throughout the narrow area.
A terrifying scream was heard and I jolted as if my soul had soured to the sky, leaving only flesh and bones down below. That kind of scream's quite rare and is released from the pit of your stomach, then moves to every cell of your body and agitates it with fear and pain. Never had I been more scared.
I cautiously stepped into the room, as if bombs were scattered about everywhere and I had to prevent my leg from stomping on one.
"Where the hell am I?!" I hollered out in terror.
The lights went on abruptly to reveal four human beings chained to a rotating playground carousel in the centre of the room. In front of the carousel was a metal chair with two leather straps on its armrest, no one was connected to it thought.
There was a rather small device before the chair, though, I couldn't quite make out what was its intentions.
I could guarantee it was no good.
I scooted closer and the small screen by the ride clicked open simultaneously, making my pulse rise a notch.
"Hello Gwen Wilson." My name rolled out of his tongue with venom. I was terrified to face the masked creature again.
"The human body is a fascinating creation isn't it? Especially the way it reacts to something intriguing... The unknown. It's an unfolded mystery itself. Curiosity... It can drive you to do mad things such as walk your fate into a fudging trap like a blind man. No you know what? I'd like to apologise to the blind humans population, curiousness can turn you into a more blind person than a blind person. It makes you blind inside. All your senses become blown and your naïveness leads you to do indescribably extreme things. Now if you could turn back time, would you still go to that pub? Would you still ring that number when you were strictly told not to?" He paused to let me muster an answer. I shook my head and tears poured down my cheeks.
